Hemstrought’s, famous for the “original Halfmoon Cookie” has not changed the recipe since 1920. Cookies are baked from scratch every morning with all natural ingredients and hand frosted with a chocolate fudge and vanilla buttercream frosting. Although there are many renditions of our cookie circulating in the market (maybe you have heard of “black and whites”?), none can compare to the decadent, but light taste and soft texture of our original recipe. Taste the cookie that started it all.

12-7-22 as usual bought 2 large trays of halfmoons. They are terrible. Compared to the past they are very small. The texture is hard and sandy. Plus the price was significantly higher than the past. So disappointed in what was a great Utica tradition.
