My husband and I stopped into Heidi’s Brooklyn Deli on a whim and it ended up being one of the best lunch experiences we’ve had in a long time.
First off, the service here is on another level. The two girls working the counter and making the food (Katrina and Maia? I had to ask!) were genuinely awesome. Super friendly, patient, and made the whole interaction feel warm instead of rushed. You can tell they care about your experience and it makes a huge difference. They checked in, kept the vibe light, and made sure everything came out exactly how we ordered it.
And the food? Ridiculously good. They made my sandwich and it was stacked, super fresh, and honestly tasted like something you’d get from a classic New York deli. It wasn’t overly salty and was perfectly made. Tristan got an Italian Sub and he couldn’t stop talking about how good the bread was and they were so accommodating of changes. Everything tasted fresh, balanced, and way better than your average quick lunch spot.
You can tell the people that work here take pride in their prep. The bread was soft and fresh, the meats were high quality, and the veggies were crisp. Even the bag of chips felt like a nice touch to round out the meal.
It’s rare these days to find a spot where good food and genuinely great customer service show up together, but this place nails it. Huge shoutout to the staff for making it such a good experience, especially Katrina and Maia (again sorry if this is spelt wrong!) for being absolute rockstars behind the counter and for making awesome food!
Definitely coming back. Highly recommend.

Had the Reuben (amazing!) and the Cajun turkey. They shorted on the avocado a bit but the order was correct and it was delicious very clean and friendly service.

Good deli service and fair to middlin’ food. Nothing negative to say, but not amazing, blow your socks off food. Just a good solid sandwich. Potato salad was on the better side than average. Serveres were personable and efficient.

Such a good find! I stopped in for a quick lunch – I got a turkey wrap with basil & tomato bisque & a sweet treat – it was all delicious and made super quick! I read a sign on the wall about family-owned farm sourced ingredients and I love that their integrity hasn’t been compromised amongst tough economical times. Will for sure be back (:

First, I have only visited this deli once so this might be an off-experience. Overall, we found the food pretty unremarkable. The sandwiches were supposed to be on ciabatta bread, that was confirmed by the server. However, the bread did not look or taste like ciabatta at all (see photos). Moreover, the service was weird. There was only one person taking the order and making the sandwiches while the other person (maybe a trainee?) was just sweeping the place for the one hour we were there. It took about 40 mins to just place the order (there were only 3 people ahead of me) and then, I asked if minor customizations were possible (e.g. no tomato, avocado on the side). I’d have been fine if they said no, but the server assured me it was perfectly fine. However, the sandwiches came out as standard, no changes were incorporated. It was quite disappointing overall I’d say. I hope this was just an off-experience and not a norm.

Absolutely love this deli! The variety in their menu and the clean ingredients were amazing. The fact that they make their many breads fresh there in store is also wonderful!! Service was fabulous, friendly, and helpful.

My grandfather comes here often in the morning, and has mentioned three girls that have always been extremely nice to him, I went to check it out as I’ve never been to Heidi’s Brooklyn deli, and I was blown away by how nice the employees were. When I didn’t know what to order she gave me recommendations on her favorite and fan favorites. I was super impressed with this place! Will definitely be coming again!

This used to be my favorite sandwich place! My sandwich today was so horrendous I was shocked. $16 for a sandwich that is made too early when doing a pre pick up, soggy, and the avocado had gone bad?! Plus, increasing a side of cajun mayo to $1.50 and then completely negating to put it in? Unfortunately last time I’ll be going to this location… Not sure what’s up with management. Portland location still seems alright though fyi folks!

I ordered two subs from there today, first one was an Italian with vinegar and oil on the side, second one was a Ruben with pastrami.
We brought our subs home to eat them ( I had just gotten out of radiation). my sub did not any vinegar and oil on the side at all,ate it dry! The second sub was not a pastrami,it was corn beef! After paying over $ 35.00 for both subs,I expect exactly what I paid for!
You lost this customer! I will not order from this place ever again! Either the employees aren’t paying attention to detail or they simple don’t care!

Prices are too high for the lack of portion in the sides.
I understand training people but service isn’t friendly or expediant. Where is the management?
You have good food but lack the crew to make this an experience worth paying too much for again.
