I attended a comedy show for Sherri Sheppard as well as an event that same weekend for my Delta Sorority friend. I was not expecting a full service bar, but there was one with great service! Bartenders were fast, friendly, and my drinks were good. There was a wait for the food but it came out hot! I was told this is a venue and not open daily for service, just renting, but maybe they should be. If there’s an upcoming event here, I’ll definitely return.

I attended the Sherri Shepherd event.
The dude at the door told us to step aside to allow some “very important people” to enter the venue. Well, it was not us nor Sherri…so we all stood there in amazement as he stopped entry into the venue. Upon entry, we realized this is not a music or event space. It is a room filled with poor quality, cheap foldable chairs. You will be touching your neighbor. Had to embrace it. Folks who work for the venue should standout, as it took us a minute to find a staff to help us find our seats. Ventilation is poor because we smelled the food specifically fried fish, during the entire set. As I do normally especially in these times, not sure of the EXIT doors besides the one main entrance nor did I see security. Could be a great place but needs more work and attention to detail.

This is more an event space than a music venue. I was super excited about seeing Talib for the first time since The Beautiful Struggle released. He cancelled his NOLA date so I ended up here as it coincided with another trip. While Talib was entertaining, the sound and security left something to be desired. The music was muffled for the entire show, which being the second night performance is unacceptable. You could at least hear his vocals without feedback. More egregiously was the lack of security. Not that I’m looking to be grouped and frisked like a criminal, but they needed a bouncer. This dude was clearly on one, and was told repeatedly to calm his ish BY TALIB during the course of his set. He still had the nerve to sit on stage and smoke a cig WHILE he was performing. Talib and everyone in the crowd was ready to stomp him out. It’s a nice enough space, if not bare and devoid of any character. Completely unacceptable for a music venue though. There’s a bar and an outdoor area to puff your cancer sticks. We just had bottled water, so can’t speak to alcohol prices.

Went for the Sherri show and it was a disaster. Completely got ripped off. Was charged for Tito’s for our Sky (house vodka) drinks and finally after having to complain about our food never coming out, our last drinks were rang in *correctly* as Sky which was a $5 difference per drink! This was from the same bartender so there was no mistake. Guess she felt bad we were being ripped off AND not receiving food.
Our fries and mozzarella sticks, basic fried appetizer food, took over an hour to get for an hour and a half show. Not to mention the venue was absolute crap, they could at least invest in some decent chairs and not cram people together. We were all practically on top of each other. We will all never be back.

The people who work here are nice however the food is expensive for no reason I have no problem paying for good food but this food taste like cafeteria food. The mac and cheese has no love poured into it kinda taste like stoffers frozen mac. I’m pretty sure this is a black owned business they know better. They need to either lower the prices or get better recipes. I’m still rooting for this business but the truth needs to be told in order to improve.

The food, atmosphere and customer service was excellent. A great place to vibe out. I had the whiting, Mac & cheese and cabbage, it was cooked to perfection. The prices are reasonable.

We recently went to see Chrisette Michele at Headliners. The tickets were about $90 each. It was overpriced, especially for the quality of the venue. Headliners is advertised as a music venue, however, the acoustics are horrible. The seats were cheap picnic table chairs. They were very uncomfortable and well beyond the level of comfort you would think for the price. The place was overcrowded. It was clear they oversold and I’m not even sure we were meeting the requisite fire code. We were planning to order food, but when we went to order, we were told that the wait time would be 90 minutes. By then the show would’ve been over. It was a complete waste. I will say that the artist was good although she was over wan hour late and I could barely understand what she was saying because of the horrible acoustics and set up of equipment. This will be my last time going to this venue.

Went to Beckham’s Smokehouse located in Headliners and ordered the polish boy (poboy)and a half rack of ribs dinner. Everything was delicious! We have been looking for a good bbq joint with an awesome bbq sauce. We will be returning!

I’ve been seeing this place when I pass by on the train so I decided I would try it. I paid $18 including tax for the chicken philly which did not come with fries or a drink but I still wanted to try it since it’s in a central location. Worst chicken philly I’ve ever had. Dry, too salty, didn’t even put the mayonnaise on the sandwich just gave me packets which is a red flag to me as a chef, cheese wasn’t melted, took about 15 minutes to bring my food out even though I was the only person there. The event space was mediocre at best with hotel conference room chairs at the tables.

Had a great time at Headliners Charlotte! Went to see the comedy show with Talent and he had the whole room cracking up. The vibe was super chill, the staff was cool, and the whole night just felt easy and fun. Definitely looking forward to coming back for another show soon.
