CHECK. THIS. PLACE. OUT!
I happen to be there on Opening Night.
Any Service Industry kat worth their salt knows that patience is a virtue on these type of nights.
The HAYWORTH location is a prime spot for the Hendo crowd that has been visiting Timbers on Steph/Horizon Ridge for years.
I decided to glide into a seat at the bar to enjoy the Drink-Slinga. I had the Daiquiri off the cocktail menu – a well balanced appetizer before I began sipping my Balvenie entree.
The Aromas of the Wagyu Pastrami on my left and, what looked like a Charcuterie Board, on my right, were mouth watering. Unfortunately, I had already eaten before accidentally walking into this new spot.
Since the drink menu is also comprised of the Dessert list, this combo menu GOT ME! “Bahhh-stardos”… .
I was indecisive about the unique Baklava or the Plum Sticky Bread Pudding. While TRYING to only order one and NOT both, a gent named Gene walked over to ask me about my cocktails and then helped me decide on a dessert.
While the bartender was efficiently multitasking, Gene returned from the kitchen with my Plum Sticky Bread Pudding.
The initial bite, Melty-Moist-Sticky and perfectly sweet, almost made me think that I was on the Strip. This first bite reminded me of the first time I had a Butter Cake bite at the “Treehouse” on the strip.
I took a second bite and remembered to sip my Balvenie, the combo flavors enhanced the dessert sauce as well as my scotch.
Essentials for the viability of this place will be:
Maintaing product, curtailing seasonal/late-night menus, intersesting monthly verbals, and listening to the locals; minus the local wacko(s) – as in poker – if you can’t see the fool at the table, you must be it.
Alas, Who am I? – nobody of merit, just a bystander who is a sucker for good eats at a bar stool.
Udachi tsʹomu restoranu.
The food, the ambience, and every thing in between is to perfection. As for the cocktails my favorite is Made in Cuba delicious and refreshing
