I had heard of Haydel’s from all the locals I know here, and it more than lived up to the reputation. Everything is delicious… EVERYTHING. Their food alone would be reason enough for the 5 stars, but what won me over as a repeat customer was the service. They always have multiple people working the counter who are knowledgeable and willing to tell you about their goods.

Our Mardi Gras party was Saturday, Feb 18th. I called Haydel’s a month in advance to order cream cheese and pecan praline King Cakes to deliver the morning of the party. I was very surprised to find they delivered a month early. I called to let shipping know but they had already identified the error and rescheduled the new delivery date. I asked if i should return the cakes but was told to enjoy them. We enjoyed them very much and the second delivery went smoothly! The cakes were fresh and absolutely delicious! We’re already looking forward to next year’s delivery! Laissez les bon temps rouler! ~ Happy customer in Matthews NC!

This is the best bakery in New Orleans. I consider myself a dessert/bakery connoisseur of sorts. I have ordered cakes from every bakery-big and small- in the surrounding New Orleans, multiple times. My bday gift to people is buying their birthday cake. I am happy to say that the cakes and pastries at Haydels are not only fresh and tasty, but they are visually appealing, and a service is top-notch. I do not care for their kingcakes, but I do know that they ship them for Mardi Gras season. Service is quick and there is a nice selection of gifts in the bakery. My favorite thing is the pettifours. Go here. You won’t be disappointed.

I ordered a praline pecan king cake yesterday and it arrived in New Mexico today in perfect condition. It’s absolutely divine. Moist, fresh overstuffed and heavenly. Reminded me of home! I love the extras they include and the coffee was amazing as well and complimented the cake perfectly. I’m so impressed with the quality and value of this purchase! Highly recommend. Haydel’s was an excellent choice for our wedding cake. They were very helpful as we navigated how to order for our number of guests and different design options. The cake was eaten entirely and we got so many compliments! We would definitely recommend them. They did not really stick to the color scheme we requested, but who cares, it’s cake!
