But a night just out for a country drive a 5.
It feels like you’re in the middle of nowhere with a great waterfall view. And the food isn’t bad. There’s some decent food there. Some great. Just some of mine wasn’t what I was expecting.
This wasn’t the dress up 5 star place we expected but it’s a good place to relax by the water, eat inside, go get a drink and do karaoke next door.
I liked the cozy bar myself.
The dining room is in another building next door. It’s a simple place with about 60 chairs in a small area. Voices carry in that room. We couldn’t hear the soft music over loud voices. I don’t recommend this for an anniversary or such again . We will go back for a lunch sometime to sit a very long time by the waterfall. A very limited seat area outside.
I should have got lots of pics.
My husband was not impressed with the small amount of chicken for )$26 but the portable sauce was really good.
My crab cakes were very little crab. I prefer horseradish with mine. They have a vinegar like sauce.
Side salad just lettuce tomato croutons.
I’d like this place more on a slow night. Saturday is too loud to eat there for us.
This was a one hour drive there for us.
Will go back if we are out that way in a small hike maybe.
Such a small town is lucky to have this place though. They have steaks , prime rib that I hear are great.
But a flannel shirt and grilled shrimp, sautéed squash, great margarita next door. Go comfy I say. I felt overdressed . But any dress style is expected there.
We had an appetizer of fried green beans. They were tasty. The prime rib was very good, but the sides were very average! The salad looked as it was taken right out of a bag of greens with a few tomato wedges and croutons on it. The Brussels sprouts were nicely flavored but very soft and mushy like boiled frozen brussel sprouts. The wine was below average.
The service was excellent! Our server was very attentive and friendly!
Have been coming here for years, and can honestly say regardless of what I get on the menu, it has been the most consistent quality and taste of any restaurant I’ve been too. They don’t miss…
Steaks, sides, drinks and desserts are all quality ingredients, thoughtfully cooked and presented. Its a simple menu, with a variety for anyone to enjoy.

My recent visit to Haven 55 was an exceptional experience. Located in Pineville, MO, this fine dining restaurant perfectly blends a casual atmosphere with exquisite cuisine. The restaurant is beautifully situated overlooking Little Sugar Creek, with a large waterfall adding to its picturesque setting.
During our visit, I ordered the salmon, which was cooked to perfection and accompanied by a delicious twice-baked potato and asparagus. Michelle had the Monsieur Croque sandwich, which was equally delightful. We also shared a side of hand-cut fries covered in Parmesan cheese and balsamic glaze, adding a wonderful touch to our meal.
The ambiance of Haven 55 is romantic and inviting, making it an ideal spot for a special night out. The service was impeccable, and the staff made us feel welcome and well taken care of throughout our visit. The culinary expertise of Chef Alan Bone shines through in every dish, ensuring a consistently high-quality dining experience.
Haven 55 is a true gem in McDonald County, and I highly recommend it for anyone seeking a memorable dining experience. Whether for a special occasion or just a casual meal, this restaurant will not disappoint.
