Extremely slow service & pricey for the quality of food we received. After my family & I sat down, it took 15 to 20 minutes for anyone to even acknowledge our presence, then it took over an hour to receive our meal; which definitely wasn’t worth the wait. It instantly got cold due to the air vent right above our table & it didn’t taste very good. It seemed like the problem was with our waitress as all of her tables had to wait three times as long to be served & then she only brought out one single dish at a time to all of her tables. I’ll definitely not be returning.

Just stopped by Hathaway’s Diner for a quick breakfast and was super happy I did. The vibe of this place is really cool with an old school vibe and fun music.
The staff is super nice and food is really good! Had the veggie omelette with hash browns and rye toast, delicious!
Might come here tomorrow for breakfast it was so good!

This is not a bad place to eat but it is just average. The food was okay. The service is okay. The atmosphere of a traditional diner is nice. The food I had was served hot and was freshly prepared. I don’t think you’d be disappointed eating here but it is nothing exciting. I happened to be there at a particularly bad lunch rush. The poor waitress was running around like crazy trying to take care of everyone. As a result service suffered. I wouldn’t hesitate going back but there are so many other food options.

Hathaway’s diner is a cozy dining experience with good food. Our service was great, and I appreciated the fresh look they have after renovation. We went for a work lunch and ordered.
1. Reuben sandwich – this dish was recommended by our server and was delicious. Would order again and recommend. (5/5 )
2. Patty melt – a coworking friend ordered and said it was tasty. (5/5 )
3. Veggie omelet – a coworking friend ordered and enjoyed the dish. (4/5 )
4. Fries – these weren’t the star of our visit and need a little more finesse and seasoning. (2/5 )
I would return and recommend it to anyone who hasn’t tried. I am going to order breakfast the next time I go :).

My mom shared Hathaway’s Diner with us as part of our tour of her home town. She has fond memories of Hathaway’s. Staff was friendly. Food was great. Our server did forget if she took our order which was a bit disconcerting but we got food in a timely manner and all was good.

Amazing breakfast l, polite and responsive wait staff. My group will definitely return next time we’re in cinci. The eggs were cooked to perfection, the pancakes were like eating clouds, the browns were the perfect mix of crisp and soft. And the bacon, THE BACON was PERFECT, the texture was almost glazed, crispy and tender all at once… the biscuits and gravy were a “perfect wakeup”

The place was pretty nice and colorful, only issue is really long wait. They told us to sit wherever but the tables all had dirty dishes on it from where they didn’t collect them. We got there at 12:30, wasn’t served until 1:05. They came back out and said our order was deleted on accident and retook our order. We didn’t leave there until 2:40. We waited 45 minutes or more on our food just for Mine & my friends burgers to come out PINK when we asked for well done (burnt basically), the Mac n cheese had no flavor, straight cold & had a weird taste, I ordered pretzel sticks and it came out hard with a bowl of cheese (warm on top, cold on the bottom). Overall, I would rate this place a 1. The serve was really nice, I asked for our burgers to be taken off and the manager was very rude and said “I can make them pay” the serve (older man) was very respectful and had her removed them, he kept apologizing. He deserves to have a raise. GET BETTER MANAGEMENT & better COOKS.

Oh how I wanted this place to be great. Other then the fact that you feel like you’re walking back in time when you visit this place. The food is mediocre, the portions are small and the staff is slow. I had the patty melt, it was ok. The onion rings were greasy. It just wasn’t the best, and o really wanted it to be great. I remember coming here as a child and it was wonderful, it’s a shame that it’s gone downhill.

We were greeted casually at the door and seated right away. The server suggested a couple food items and we had a great meal. The atmosphere is relaxed with oldie music in the background with oldie decor. My wife and I had a good meal at reasonable prices.

The bacon. You know how sometimes you order bacon with your breakfast and you get a floppy sad piece of salty rubber? Well, dear friends, this is not that kind of joint. This bacon is a thin strip of crispy perfection that will make you close your eyes as it melts in your mouth. The eggs were cooked exactly as ordered, the hash browns were the perfect blend of fluffy and crunchy, and if you’re looking for a place to try goetta you will recieve a generous and delicious plateful. The pancake was okay and the biscuits and gravy were unremarkable. Just remember, you’re here for the bacon.
