Upscale New American dishes paired with wine & cocktails in a sleek, sophisticated locale.

A really cool spot to stop at before catching a show. I recommend you make a reservation to ensure you get a table. We stopped in for a few small plates which were perfect. The butternut squash soup was outstanding. Probably the best I have ever had. Next were had the meats and cheese platter which came with various cheeses and cured meats. Lastly we had the grilled calamari, it was ok. The service was very good and we well probably go back and try other items from the menu.

We were a party of 4. The waitress was very knowledgeable about wine and the menu, and gave us great suggestions. Not pictured was the octopus appetizer, which was a 10/10. It was bright and had the right amount of acid, kind of reminded us of ceviche. I also enjoyed that the octopus was in thin slices and wasn’t too chewy.
We also ordered the mussels with chorizo appetizer (the bread dipped in the sauce was top tier), duck, salmon and scallops. Every dish was delicious. We are definitely going back!

A great location in downtown New Haven near Yale. Harvest has the best outdoor dining in New Haven, down below street level secluded from busy roadway and sidewalk traffic. Inside it has a very trendy and cozy vibe. Have been frequenting this restaurant for a few years now and they have been pleasantly consistent with both their interesting cocktails and quality food offerings. First time I came here was just for cocktails on my birthday and knew I had to come back and try the food. There are plenty of small plate selections to choose from that suffice as either dinner or appetizers. The crispy calamari and crispy artichokes are go to favorites. There are several really good entrees on the regular menu but there are daily specials as well. The hanger steak is very delicious and so is the halibut. Most recently had the pan seared sushi grade yellowfin tuna that was amazing. The value is good for the money and I leave here feeling content. The service is attentive and plentiful. Shoutout to the owner/manager Wilson who makes us feel welcomed and happy that we came. Look forward to our next visit!

The food is absolutely fire, both the beef tartar, and chicken and wild mushroom pappardelli were rich with flavor, making me want to go back. I wish the portion for main dish was bigger, and the corner seat of the restaurant did have quite a few flies constantly flying above us. They have outdoor seatings available too!

My partner and I came for restaurant week, and found the experience to be pleasant enough, but not a particular standout. The food quality was a bit uneven. We both really enjoyed our first courses (the pear and arugala salad and the calamari respectively), however, the main courses were underwhelming. My salmon didn’t have much flavor, and his veal chop was way overdone on one side, and very rare on the other. The ambiance is great, and the service was very smooth, but for the price point at Harvest, New Haven has a lot of options I find more satisfying.

The atmosphere is great and so was the service. The only thing slightly lacking was the flavor of the food. We went during restaurant week and tried the prefixed menu. The food was good and used quality ingredients, just not something I’m dying to go back to try again.

Harvest was one of my top favorite restaurants in downtown New Haven, but my last visit was so disappointed that we were left to see if we gave another chance in the near future. Two of my favorites were the cheese plater and Ahi-tuna tartare, and both were not closed to what it used to be. The cheese plater was just sad. The board was too big, and the cheese pieces were too big as well. The guava was just 1 piece for 2 people. Nothing like they used to. The Ahi-tuna tartare is smaller than the usual portion, and the flavor is not quite the same. I ordered the lobster salad, and there was no dressing to enhance the flavor and no one around to ask for some. Also, while we were waiting for the second round of our order, a couple sat down next to us and waited more than 10 minutes to get their drinks order, and they left. Busy Friday night under staff. I’m still thinking about another chance because I love the place.

Plenty of outdoor seating, pleasant staff and an amazing menu to chose from. There were a lot of Yale families, as it was graduation week, and it was just great to see people out and about.
I had dinner with a few friends, and all of our meals were delicious. (My friend’s decaf coffee on the other hand was not good at all).
I had a starter, Crispy Artichokes (lemon aioli, jalapenos, cilantro, red onions, ricotta salata) and it was just perfect. So flavorful.
My main course was Sausage Tagliatelle (house made fennel sausage, broccoli rabe, garlic, basil pesto, chili flakes, parmesan cheese), and it was probably the freshest pasta I have had at a restaurant. Such a delicious dish!
One of my friends had Grilled Organic Salmon (roasted potatoes, baby carrots, roasted baby beet vinaigrette), which she really enjoyed. My other friend had a pork chop with roasted carrots and some sort of pesto puree, and also enjoyed it a lot.

I almost never leave 1-star reviews, but this experience was truly unacceptable.
We called to see if they could sit 6 people around 7:15pm, and Harvest was very accommodating when we asked to add 2 more guests. Great start, but that’s where everything went downhill.
After being seated, we waited about 15–20 minutes before realizing no server was ever going to come by. We had to get up and let the staff know. A server eventually came, took our drink and food orders, and then essentially disappeared. Over the next 30 minutes, she checked on us once, just to refill water. Meanwhile, we noticed guests who arrived after us already getting drinks.
Another 10–15 minutes passed with nothing. I went up to the hostess to let her know we still hadn’t gotten our drinks. She apologized, but when she later came by our table, she spoke to us in a rude, dismissive tone, telling us that our drinks and food were coming and that we needed to “just wait.” Everyone at the table was shocked by how unprofessional that was.
At this point, we had been seated for over an hour. It was nearly 8:30pm, and we had no drinks, no food, and no service except water, and then were met with rudeness when we voiced frustration. Being busy is one thing; ignoring a table for nearly an hour and then being dismissive is another.
Harvest might have good food, but I’ll never know. We left before anything arrived. Truly one of the worst dining experiences I’ve had.
