On a visit to Monterey we came across Harumi Japanese restaurant, we started with the tempura appetizer it was ok nothing special about it, and we ordered the deluxe sashimi and it was excellent. We had 3 rolls white dragon, kamikaze, and the Megan rolls. Nothing so special about them. The rice was falling apart, flavor was blunt. Wasn’t too impressed. In general I’ll give it 3 stars.

Our bill was around $60 plus tip but when it came out on our bank statement we were charged $123. I called to have it corrected and was told that charge was put in incorrectly and I would receive a refund within 5 to 7 days. It has been over a month and the refund still has not come, so be away this place will scam you.

Harumi is not a Japanese restaurant!! This is a Korean owned business that has a Hispanic staff. My waitress had difficulty communicating in English and she had somewhat of a bad attitude.
