Harry’s Old Place is a small, local restaurant that has been serving the largest selection of fresh fish since 1992. We specialize in seafood but also have hand cut steaks. Harry’s Old Place is highest rated seafood restaurant in the county so come on out and find out what the locals have known for decades.

Stopped in at Harry’s Old Place in Winter Haven for lunch on New Years Eve.
Our server Suzanne is a real pro – handled the entire dining room with a smile.
Love the great fish and seafood choices – the fish board says it all. I absolutely love their Onion Loaf just so good, wonderfully seasoned and perfectly cooked. The Seafood Chowder is packed with seafood in a creamy broth that delivers great flavor – just comfort in a bowl.
I don’t know how you fry fish and seafood better – hot, crispy and tender – includes shrimp, scallops, oysters, clam strips – took half home for lunch today.
We split this amazing Florida Orange cake which is a new guilty pleasure of mine.
Going for lunch is a great way to avoid the crowds but still get a great meal. Give it a try and you will not be disappointed.

On January 24, 2026 we held our wedding dinner at Harry’s. First, it was given 5 stars by the nearly 50 people in attendance. Cody the manager, worked in every way to please our guest and the staff was absolutely incredible. It’s not a huge place, but I couldn’t ask for a better experience. Fresh fish, fresh chicken, steaks, and more lined our plates. I have traveled many states and restaurants, (check my reviews) and definitely a top 5 place to eat. Thank you Cody, Harry’s, and staff for making our day ending with smiles and full stomachs. I recommend if you ever are in the Winter Haven area…make this a must.

We wanted to explore a more local seafood restaurant and something away from tourists. Harry’s delivered on all fronts. It is about 35 minutes from Davenport and Google maps got us there with no issues. The fresh fish is posted on the chalk board and the portions were good. We ordered the fried onion loaf, swordfish, cod and chips and fried shrimp. Everything tasted great. We thought the swordfish was too thin and did not come as a steak cut. The shrimp were great and you can get to choose from two different portion sizes. The cocktails were amazing! The fresh made key lime pie was the best we have had, it was frozen but tart and fluffy at the same time. The hot bread rolls were outstanding and reminded me of my mother’s baking years ago. They have outdoor seating but it didn’t look like it’s been used in a long time and could offer a great ambiance if it was spruced up. Nice views of the water. I will return!!

Suzanne was so attentive and amazing. And the food!!! Gator bites with pimento cheese was so good. I had the amberjack with garlic caper butter, wow was that amazing. My husband had blackened grouper sandwich and that was so good too. Their tartar sauce was Devine.

Harry’s Old Place is a quaint nostalgic place nestled on Lake Ned.
We started our meal with smoked salmon dip, gator sausage, served with creamy pimento cheese & bbq dipping sauce. The starters were fresh, delicious and packed with flavor.
We sipped on ice cold half sweet tea and unsweetened tea and an Arnold Palmer which was served in a 3 cup mason jar.
For our main dish, we had the Grouper Special with shrimp, scallops, and crab meat in a garlic butter sauce served with new potatoes and savory cheese grits. We also tried the Corvino Monterey with artichokes hearts, sun dried tomatoes, mushrooms, garlic white wine sauce and parmesan cheese that was coupled with seasonal vegetables and rice pilaf.
For dessert, we had the salted caramel cheesecake and key lime pie.
Overall, everything was delicious. We will definitely be back!

My first time to Harry’s and I took my mother. I decided to order appetizers and food, lol. I ordered alligator bites, onion loaf, and for dinner I ordered the fresh haddock and my mother ordered fried scallops. Everything was delicious . I am excited to go back.

This was our first visit, and it didn’t disappoint! We started our meal with smoked salmon dip and club crackers and gator sausage, served with creamy pimento cheese & bbq dipping sauce. The starters were fdelicious and the gator sausage had a sneaky spicy kick.
For our main course, we opted for

We also tried the Corvino Monterey with artichokes hearts, sun dried tomatoes, mushrooms, garlic white wine sauce and parmesan cheese that was coupled with seasonal vegetables and rice pilaf.

We had the BEST meal and overall experience at Harry’s! We were there for dinner and even though they were busy, we were seated right away (although it would’ve been worth waiting if we needed to). Our server, Suzanne, could not have been warmer or more welcoming; she made great recommendations, made sure we were taken care of at all times, and even got my son crayons while we were waiting. The food came out super fast though, and everything was hot, super flavorful, and delicious. We got the onion loaf and gator bites to start, and then two kinds of fresh fish, corvina and amberjack. (They have a list of the fresh fish that are available on the wall, and on the table is a list of the types of fish with their flavor profiles and textures, super helpful if you aren’t familiar or want to try something new.) You can pick your preparation for the fish (lemon butter, blackened, jerk seasoning, etc.), we tried the garlic breadcrumbs which were very good. The fish dinners came with a hush puppy and two sides – my husband and I both got salads (with their house made ranch and thousand island, both yummy), and then he ordered grits and I got fries, both of which were incredible. For dessert we each had a few bites of the key lime pie, which smelled like fresh lime and had just the right amount of sweetness, cool creamy and delicious. The perfect end to a fantastic meal. If you’re thinking about trying this place, do it! Highly recommend!
