When I asked for the best fish and chips, several friends recommended this place. When we first entered, it was quite quiet—not many customers were there. The staff gave us a warm welcome, and the food arrived in about 15 minutes. The fish and chips was nice!

However, since it’s a bit pricey, I hope the food quality can be upgraded a little bit!

Went Into here for the first time with my husband for a ‘nice’ evening meal, and I will be honest we will NOT be going back. While we had no wait for a table and the server was nice, she kept repeating questions which is fine but get annoying after the 3rd time of being asked the same question. Now the food……. Where do I even start, my husband pie was barely warm and tasted store bought and like a pukka pie, the mashed potatoes where luke warm and tasted and looked like boxed instant mash potatoes. I got the Harry Clubman sandwiche and I honest have no idea where to start on this but here we go….. The bread was cheap store bought flat bread, the bacon was very anaemic and I had to spit it out as it tasted microwaved and 5 days old, the chicken was sweaty and not like cold wet it was dripping sweaty bad chicken and the chips where store bought flavourless starchy messes. I didn’t eat any of it on fear of food poisoning. It was so bad I would have no paid if I had the choice!

My wife and I had the afternoon tea for 2 which was worth every penny. It was very filling, consisting of fish and chips, fish cakes, prawn cocktail, crayfish brioche rolls, brisket croquette with gravy, raspberry macaroon with cream, and to top it all off, coffee/Yorkshire tea. Ronnie and Jenson provided fantastic service. We also had the lemon meringue tart with ice cream. 5* all the way for the Brighton branch.

Harry Ramsden’s always get some stick from some quarters but I find it has great fish and chips, warm service and it’s clean. What more do you need?
I had had the hake and chips and J had the cod and chips. There may be better in Brighton but this seafront place is just excellent.

All the staff were warm and welcoming, food was tasty and very well presented, I couldn’t find anything to fault. It was a very pleasant dining experience, and the sticky toffee pudding was amazing too…… Many thanks to Alfie, Korina, Jensen and Sam.

Absolutely fantastic experience at Harry Ramsden’s! The fish and chips were perfect – crispy batter, flaky fish, and tasty chips. The staff were so friendly and attentive, and they even surprised me with a birthday cake, which made the visit extra special. Thank you to Jenson and Alfie who provided a great service! Highly recommend this place for amazing food and wonderful service! ❤️

Harry Ramsden is known as a northern Fish n Chip brand so to find out they had a branch in Brighton, I was elated. I told my friend who had never heard of them. After our outing at the Pavilion, we found the restaurant which was across the road, on the corner.
The entrance wasn’t obvious as it looked like a secluded back door which we discovered was the right one as the other was takeaway.
Upon entry we were seen to very quickly, however it did appear they were very busy and quite understaffed. We understood and were patient to wait to be seen to.
It was a bit of a wait but it was worth it. The portion size was just right. Melt in the mouth fish with a light crispy batter. Fish n chips from the local takeaway doesn’t quite cut it once you’ve tried Harry Ramsden.
The fish and chips comes with mushy peas but I asked for garden peas instead which they were happy to provide.

Aside from the wait, it was worth it, the food was delicious, we had time to relax and enjoy our meal.

A tad on the pricey side – £17 but a nice treat.

The decor is plain and understated, you are primarily going there for the Fish n Chips. Ambience was quiet.

Toilets are clean but very shoebox like so you have to do a 360 to get in to manoeuvre.

The famous Brighton Pier is right opposite across the road.

Massive thanks to Ollie…very helpful very cheerful
We ate there every night because we were made to feel welcome, which my elderly uncle really liked.
The cod and chips as always was fantastic..

I didnt just have the cod and chips.. .. the pie was not nice at all but my complaint was dealt with efficiently and fairly.

There was no atmosphere … it was empty.

Have the fish…. 5 stars ✨
