You know those random dinner choices that end up becoming lifelong memories? That was Harris’ Place.
Cynthia the owner, chef, hostess, and second generation to run this little restaurant in Garner Bay is absolutely incredible. She will welcome you like family and won’t let you leave hungry.
Not only was the food wonderful, it felt like a wonderful big family dinner just hanging out with other patrons/boaters that are all coming together to celebrate a good day and break bread together.
The food; lobster is the specialty here, giant fresh lobsters in an open water cage just on the edge of the bay. The four of us ordered Cynthia’s family style with two medium lobsters, blackened grouper, shrimp and some nice vegetables.
The rum punch; punches above its weight! It’s delicious but be careful on your second round, though it’s just a short dinghy ride back to your boat.
The atmosphere; this is really what shines and is memorable. Cynthia the owner just truly makes you feel so welcome and takes care of you. It’s typically an intimate dining experience with not that many tables and group chat between new friends.

Had an amazing dinner with Cynthia. Best Caribbean lobster we have ever had. Moist and tender like a Main Lobster. Save your time going to Anegada and stop off at Harris’ Place in Little/Garner Bay on Jost. Call ahead for reservations to be sure she has your lobster waiting!

The best meal in the BVI! Cynthia is so kind and welcoming. The split pea soup was amazing, followed up by a lovely salad and then the biggest lobster I’ve ever seen for the main course! Perfectly cooked too! The Key Lime pie for dessert was great!
After dinner we sat and spoke with Cynthia for about an hour, she’s an amazing soul with some great stories.
You should definitely plan to moor here for a night while sailing the BVI, there was an abundance of mooring balls and Cynthia waived the fee because we dined with her.

Cynthia is the best. Full stop. I’m not sure I’ll ever have enough nice words to describe the family style lobster dinner that Cynthia made for us, but for an evening we had our own personal BVI private chef and it was everything my party could have hoped for. An experience not soon forgotten and I couldn’t be happier to have spent an evening at Harris’ Place. Cash Only.

If I could give a higher rating, I would have. Cynthia was a welcoming host that greeted us all with hugs and immediately served her famous rum punch with “very strong rum” (this is a real thing), which were amazing, as was everything else.
The group as a whole ordered the fish, the ribs, and lobster, all were absolutely fantastic. We finished the meal, with probably the most amazing key lime pie that I have had.
What was probably most incredible, was the quaint, water front jungle vibe, complete with the sound of frogs in the background and wonderful lighting. We ended up being one of two tables full for dinner, and had the opportunity to spend some great quality time with Cynthia, who is just an amazing human being and was just a pleasure to spend the evening with.
This was our best dining experience of our trip by far, and one of the best that I have had…possibly anywhere.

If you’re around JVD, you need to visit Cynthia! She has the best bean soup, and grouper in the Caribbean. She is a joy to visit and we can’t wait to see her again next year.

This place is absolutely fantastic! The owner Cynthia made us a great family style meal. The lobster portions were amazing and the biggest I’ve seen. The chicken and lobster soups were also amazing. Everyone should come by for dinner when they are on the island!
