So glad we stopped at this family run Mom & Pop restaurant! At 11:00 today we both had the dark meat fried chicken, I had squash casserole (not my favorite), homemade mashed potatoes and gravy (yum!), deviled egg (good!), hubby had pinto beans and fried okra (both good!) cornbread was a bit more sweet than we like but the delicious sweet tea was perfect!! Staff were friendly and efficient! Nice hometown country atmosphere! Local treasure! Thank y’all very much! We were on our way home from camping at General Coffee State Park.

Loved almost everything about this charming, welcoming restaurant. They make you feel the weekend morning with thier hospitality. Breakfast variety includes the southern charm Grits and Eggs. Environment consciousness is written all over their decor. Reclaimed art work adds to their personality but 1 star less because i drank coffee from a styro foam.

Hubby & I like to go to mom & pop restaurants. Was in Douglas for a mini vacation and decided to stop here based on reviews. Wouldn’t come back. We got the lunch buffet and didn’t eat 3/4ths of it. The chicken was okay although really salty, everything else not so much. If you like pale green, way overcooked, mushy broccoli you’ll love this place. Mac & cheese was overcooked as well and could barely taste the cheese. Cold rolls. I asked for Pepsi and got extremely sweet tea. To sweet to drink. I took it back to camp and had to water it down by more than half. (Yes, I know they like sweet tea in the South, but this was ridiculously sweet.) For the price it could have been great. Sadly the food let them down. Would not recommend.

First time I was there in a long time. Completely redone on the inside and it looks really good. Wife and I both had the fried chicken, she had the green beans, rutabagas, squash casserole and banana pudding and I had rice, black eyed peas, sweet potatoes and strawberry cake. We both enjoyed everything we had. Will definitely go back again when we are in town.

Staff is very friendly and personable. Food is delicious southern comfort food. It all tastes like it came out of my Grandma’s kitchen and she was an amazing from scratch cook. My sister and mother ate there a few weeks ago and loved it so they brought me a take out box. Like most food, it is not as good reheated. Yesterday my mother and I went and understood why they raved about the food. It is has quirky country style, great atmosphere, delicious food and terrific staff. Their prices are amazing! My mom and I ate for $15 and change including our tea. Not cash only. They take plastic.
