After a bit of a parking nightmare, we arrived and were warmly greeted and seated. Once the menus hit the table, I almost fainted—the numbers beside the steaks weren’t local butcher phone numbers, they were the prices.
That’s when I knew we were in for a serious, high-quality experience, especially after spotting A5 Wagyu on the menu. Everything is à la carte, as you’d expect from a true high-end steakhouse.
While contemplating my life choices and enjoying the fresh baked bread with beef tallow butter (which was fantastic), I ordered the 16oz Wagyu rib steak, and my partner chose the 8oz Australian grass-fed tenderloin. She isn’t very familiar with steaks, but she confidently said it was the best steak she’s ever had. I thoroughly enjoyed mine as well—rich, perfectly cooked, and absolutely worth it.
For sides, we had the beef tallow fries and the Brussels sprouts, and both were excellent.
An unforgettable steakhouse experience from start to finish.
Service was adequate but the server had several other tables to attend to by themself. It could have been more attentive.
Atmosphere was good but loud. Comfy chairs and the table was big enough to hold all the sides and mains. Reception area was awkward and cramped.
What really sets Harmon’s apart is the service. Andrew, the GM, and the entire team u deliver genuine, exceptional hospitality. The staff is attentive, knowledgeable, and always makes the experience welcoming.
Combined with some of the best food I’ve had at a steakhouse, this is easily one of the best restaurant experiences I’ve had anywhere in Canada. Highly recommend.
There was not one time during our 2.5 hours stay where my glass of water was close to being empty. Same thing with the drinks. A person which I assume was the shift manager also took time to make sure every guests in the steakhouse were having a good time. The whole thing really seems like a well-oiled operation and so the only thing that could go wrong would be the food.
Food not only did not go wrong but it was the best piece of meat I have tasted thus far. I took the 14oz Black Opal Australian wagyu. Eating it was the easiest thing I did that day, the exterior was just hard enough to contain the inside which pretty much melted in the mouth. Old fashioned were also very tasty. My wife also enjoyed her steak very much.
The only thing I really regret about my experience is that now I’m gonna have to go on a regular basis (OK I don’t really regret it).
We started with the Rockefeller oysters, which were absolutely delicious—no surprise since they source their oysters from Whalebone. For our mains, both my husband and I ordered the Japanese wagyu. While it was decent, the standout for us was the sides. The Brussels sprouts with bacon and crispy shallots were simply mouthwatering. Our waitress suggested we opt for half portions, and we were so grateful for her advice—full portions would have been far too much.
For dessert, we chose the carrot cake. While we expected it to be a bit moister, the portion was generous enough to take some home. To our surprise, the staff also gave us two cinnamon croissants to take home, which was such a thoughtful touch and left us feeling even more impressed.
Our waitress was exceptionally friendly and attentive. When my husband tried the cherry Old Fashioned she recommended and didn’t enjoy it, she quickly replaced it with a regular Old Fashioned and ensured we weren’t charged for the first drink.
Overall, the service and attention to detail left a great impression, and we’re looking forward to returning!
We started with the roasted bone marrow, which was beautifully presented and tasty (though bone marrow was nothing mind blowing as the taste can’t be elevated much really).
For mains, we shared the 18oz Black Opal ribeye. without a doubt the highlight of the evening. It was the most tender and delicious steak we’ve ever had, cooked perfectly medium rare and truly melt-in-your-mouth good. I also tried the 7oz California cut striploin from PEI, which was nice, though the ribeye definitely stole the show.
For sides, we ordered the half portions of cremini mushrooms and Brussels sprouts. Both were delicious and packed with flavor, though a bit on the heavier/oilier side. Portions were generous, even for the “half” option, so sharing is the way to go.
Out of curiosity, we also splurged on a 2oz piece of Kobe beef. To be honest, I was surprised. it came out quite salty and I didn’t find it anything special. For me, it didn’t live up to the hype or justify the price tag, so I wouldn’t order it again.
Overall, the service was excellent, the atmosphere was warm and classy, and the ribeye alone made the night special.
