Definitely the highlight of my Halifax trip! If there was only one thing to go back for, it would definitely be Harbourstone.

We started with the house kettle chips and bluefin tuna tartare. I’m telling you now- GET THE TUNA TARTARE. It’s so good. The fried bit underneath the tuna tartare mix is a rice patty. It’s not too filling and is an amazing appetizer. The chips are definitely worth the try too- and I would suggest scooping a bit of the tuna onto a chip. The crunch goes very well with the tartare.

For our main dishes, we got the Harbourstone nachos and the clam linguini aglio olio to share.
The nachos were really good- but there was a lot of cheese, and it was starting to feel a bit heavy after a few bites.
The clam linguini aglio olio was very fresh and delicious. I do recommend that.

What really was the highlight of our visit, was our server, Lal. I have never seen such exceptional service before. He served us with a friendly, genuine smile and was eager to explain the menu to us. I would even go so far to say that he’s the golden standard for the service industry! He was even kind enough to tell us that he was leaving to go on his break, and that another waitstaff would attend to hs instead.

Thank you, Harbourstone, and especially to Lal and the cookstaff. The dinner was exceptionally good, and I hope I can revisit Halifax soon for another taste of the tuna tartare.

The restaurant was a bit dim, but there are lights on every table.

My husband and I stayed at the hotel and came for dinner one of the nights and it was wonderful. He had the cod and I had the risotto and both were really good. Our waitress was lovely as well and the atmosphere was comfortable and it was not very loud when we were there. Highly recommended!

Our server was, as usual, super nice and helpful ! The chowder is simply the best I’ve had so far, made to order ! Seafood was so fresh and delicious !!! And the salmon tartar was also very good ! Price is so cheap for the quality ! Amazing experience again ! Thanks !

I recently visited Halifax and had the pleasure of dining at Harbourstone with a local friend. The atmosphere was already fantastic, but the experience was truly made memorable by the service and the food. Our server, Riddhi, was absolutely wonderful. From the moment we sat down, she was incredibly polite, professional, and had a warm energy that made us feel right at home. She was attentive without being overbearing and treated us with such genuine kindness. Her recommendations were spot on.
We couldn’t leave without trying the Seafood Chowder, and it was rich, creamy, and delicious. The craft cocktail list is impressive, and Riddhi helped us pick the perfect pairings to complement our meal.

I live here in Halifax and recently brought a friend visiting from out of town to Harbourstone. We had an incredible meal, but the highlight was our server, Riddhi. She was professional, incredibly polite, and her menu recommendations were spot on. It’s rare to find service that feels this genuine and welcoming. Whether you’re a local like me or just passing through, ask for Riddhi she really made the night special. We’ll definitely be back!

Always a great atmosphere!
Staff is always great.
I’d put their nachos against any in town!
Loaded with caramelized onions and bacon !!
Great spot for a business meeting but it’s downtown Halifax, parking is going to be an issue if you’re looking for street parking. Parkade next door will let you get there via the Pedway though.

The entrance for the restaurant is by the front of the harbour. It is in the Marriot Hotel building. Google map just drops you at the hotel, which was a bit confusing for my case. I ordered vegan food summer harvest bowl and another ordered was aged PEI with chicken. Portions were decent size, atmosphere was calm as it was Sunday morning around noon. Overall good experience No parking, so park in casino parking

Came here on a Sunday Evening. It’s located inside the Marriott Hotel at the Waterfront but apparently they do have a patio too. We sat indoors though.

The burgers were good but lacked a real kick even though both mentioned having a spicy sauce. But definitely not bad. The salad was decent as per my friend. Drinks were fine too.

Our orders took quite a long time to arrive though. They mentioned they were managing the patio as well as the indoors hence the delay.

To sum up it is a place for a good, relaxing time. Not the best of the best, as expected by the Marriott Brand but definitely a safe bet and good for the price.

Staying in the hotel this weekend. Visited this spot a few times on our visit and was sadly more on the disappointed side every time. Service was very poor the first time and average past that. Non-engaging, and our first meal felt rushed by an early bill placement. Some staff were professional, some were not. Cocktails were pricy for a hotel bar, especially when competition offering higher quality, presentation and atmosphere is found just up the road for the same price. Most food was lackluster, I must say the stuffed French toast was in its own degree however.

We went in after a rush and were informed it would take about 30 minutes for food to come out after we order. Our coffee order was taken 10 minutes later.

We got coffee, but we waited 10 minutes for cream, milk and sugars.

Eventually they took our orders, and 45 minutes later we received our food.

We had to send back some poached eggs because they tasted like vinegar. My eggs Benedict with salmon was cold, the eggs and hash browns included, and I got very little food over all. I decided to eat it as I was hungry; I don’t like complaining or sending things back so this is partially my fault. It wasn’t overly satisfying though.

The Price, for what we received and the time it took was not really worth it.

Sorry. We probably just went at a bad time.
