The food was amazing and our server was great. I order the Sunday special of fried baby flounder and popcorn shrimp, fries, slaw and hushpuppies. To say that it was a lot of food is an understatement. The plate was piled high. The price was equally impressive. I don’t think I could eat a large plate. I will definitely be back soon.

Listen I don’t know how anyone can say they had a bad experience here! My server Emily was excellent! Told her it was our first time there and she rocked it for us! The food was fresh, hot, and delicious! Yes we shall be coming back! Let’s not forget we got cake slices from Sweets by Mitzi! Worst Meal Ever!!! Now I have eaten at Harbor Inn before and received excellent food and even better service. NOT TODAY. I ordered and paid for a 3-ITEM LARGE and this is what I received. 3 oysters, 2 little pieces of fish and a handful of shrimp.
Not to mention when I called back to complain and asked to speak to a Manager, the person that got on the phone was the same rude, older lady that took the order. I had a feeling that she didn’t put it in right or something (even though she repeated it back to me).
She informed me that it was nothing she could do and provided absolutely no possible solutions. I live 45 minutes away so bringing it back today was not a option but as an appropriate excellent customer service response, she could have offered to replace the meal or discount at a later date.
I don’t care if it is a busy time for take-out orders, all customers and all orders deserve the same respect and attention.

Im from VA and was in town on a visit. I like seafood and was told to try it. Did the pick 4 basket and everything (i had jumbo shrimp, crab cake, clams, oyster) was excellent even the baked potato and slaw. Excellent hush puppies even. 6 stars.

My fiancé and I stopped at Harbor Inn Seafood Restaurant in Burlington, NC for the first time, and unfortunately, we left disappointed. We ordered the large fried oyster dinner with coleslaw, hush puppies, and french fries. My fiancé started with a sweet tea, but it tasted borderline rancid, so we sent it back and swapped it for a Mountain Dew, which was fine. Our food came out fairly quickly, but from that point on, things went downhill. The french fries were undercooked, the oysters were greasy and overcooked, and while the hush puppies were decent, the meal overall missed the mark.
On the positive side, our waitress was excellent, attentive, friendly, and the highlight of the visit. The building itself feels very dated, like stepping back into the 1980s, but it was clean and tidy. Sadly, the food quality just didn’t match our expectations, and we’re not sure we’ll return.

We went early on a Friday afternoon around 4:00 pm and it was already crowded. Ordered a small fried shrimp plate with slaw. Freshly cooked, generous portion and delish. Our server Angela took great care of us and our food arrived in a timely manner.

Food is food. It has its own flavor and doesn’t/shouldn’t necessarily be overly saturated in spices. Had I listened to what others have said I would’ve stayed away. I’m glad if found out myself.
I showed up alone and was greeted immediately with a smile. This was not the most busy time and I had no wait.
The wait staff was friendly and she took her time with me as I hadn’t been here before. They were also seen working well together and having work fun which is great to see. I was checked on constantly while staff was cruising by to do other things.
Food:
The hush puppies are delicious. Putting some butter on them is a good add, but not needed.
I ordered the flounder and shrimp combo special.
Initially, the plate appeared piled with shrimp. But I was advised when ordering about the portions. I was told it would be a good handful of shrimp.
That handful was placed on top of accompanying hush puppies giving it a mounded appearance. That is seen in picture number two. I had extra hush puppies bc I traded them for coleslaw.
Portion wise it is adequate.
The baked potato was hot enough to cut easily and not so hot to scald my mouth.
I enjoyed the baby flounder and shrimp! The cocktail sauce was a good compliment. I tried the tartar sauce and it was also good. I don’t generally like to eat mayo based foods that are out.
The sweet tea is sweet enough and doesn’t have that bottom of the tank taste. I also appreciate the on time refills.
Would I eat here again? Yes.

I enjoyed it! I haven’t been here in a good while and it was good visiting it again. My food was good (Large Trout plate) and many did I miss that coleslaw. Our server was great!!! (So made I can’t remember her name, but I think she said she’s been there for 15 years, and she was truly amazing). Everyone was real nice!

This is the BEST Seafood within 50 miles. If you have never been here you are truly missing out on one of Burlington, NC true gems when it cook to restaurants. All home cooked food. Sides you will not find on other seafood menus. I didn’t even know what to order. That calabash shrimp melted in my mouth. Best shrimp I have ever had by far. And the portions were nice. Unlike some places where they try and load you up with fries to make the plate look larger. No, they are the real deal. But check their times of operation because it may vary. Run don’t walk you can thank me later. Look take that ride to Burlington, just get on 70 hwy and don’t get off. It will take you right there. No different than riding one end of Greensboro to the other and it’s worth the ride. Gone now get

This was our first visit. We were driving by and decided to stop for lunch. There were not many people in the place and we were seated immediately. Our waitress was super friendly and attentive to our needs. We ordered some clam chowder for appetizers and split a platter of fried seafood (Combination Seafood Platter).
The clam chowder were on the table in only minutes and tasted great. The seafood dish was out in a timely manner as well. In our case, we added scallops for just $1 and got 3 or 4 scallops for that price. What a good deal! The meal was good, and there was so much the 2 of us couldn’t even finish it.
I would totally recommend this place, and we will certainly go back. The only reason for 4 instead of 5 stars was the decor, which I’m not sure if I should call “dated” or “thrift shop”. Regardless, we will be going back here again, that’s for sure.
