Dear all lovely customers, Happy Vietnamese has been here in Kingsland from 8th August 2024. We open from Monday to Saturday. You can find the best PHỞ here, as well as eight types of Vietnamese Bánh Mì (Vietnamese Breads/Rolls) including Vegy Bánh Mì, and WE BAKE OUR BREADS. We also have five types of Vietnamese Summer Rolls here, including Vegy Summer Rolls. We also have Vietnamese Spring Rolls, Vietnamese Grilled Skewers Pork/Beef/Chicken Vermicelli with Salad. We also have Takeaway Coffee and Vietnamese Ice Coffee with special Gravity coffee beans which is strong enough with 10% Robusta mixed into the common Arabica. We hope you will love them. Today I visited this little Vietnamese restaurant on the second day of the New Year, and since most places were closed, I was really delighted they were open. Everything tasted even better than a couple of years ago. The Bánh mì was fresh and crispy, and the roasted pork belly was delicious and crunchy.
As for the pho, the broth was quite authentic, and if they could add Ngò Gai—sawtooth coriander—rather than any other herb, it would make the flavor even more authentic. Adding that sawtooth coriander and a bit of mint would definitely bring everything up a notch. It’s really a pleasant surprise and a fantastic taste experience overall!

Absolutely blown away by the fresh pork and prawn spring rolls! After trying countless Vietnamese places, this is hands down the best. The crispy pork and traditional bahn mi are also top-notch. Their coffee is amazing too! Great location in Kingsland and fantastic service. I’d love to see more about the story behind their food and the health benefits of Vietnamese cuisine displayed in the shop. Let’s support local businesses!

The food is great, the bread is warm and nice but i think i personally like warm meat inside my BanhMi but that was fine i went home and warmed it up, the taste was delicious and will highly recommend…

I’m a picky eater yet I was totally impressed by the quality of their banh mi. The baguette was sooo fresh and flaky. It was filled with a great portion of meat and spreads. The owners were very friendly. The crispy pork banh mi is to die for! It was so good we finished everything before we remembered to take pictures.

This place is a hidden gem!!! By far the best crispy pork banh mi I’ve ever had.
The bread is the perfect amount of crisp on the outside and fluff on the inside and the crispy pork and dressings are on point.
I’m from Toronto where there are a ton of banh mi shops, I also visit my family in vietnam every year… wish NZ was a regular destination for me but unfortunately it isn’t.
If you are in NZ and like Banh Mi this is a definite must try.

Really really great little place. I’ve had the crispy chicken and crispy pork belly banh mi and the beef pho and they are all excellent. I love the velvety texture of the noodles in the pho. The owners are very polite and friendly, a bonus on top of the great food.
