We had a really unique and fun experience at Happy Lamb Hot Pot.

One thing we really appreciated was the layout. If you have a larger group, they offer semi-private rooms with their own tables and two separate hot pots, which is great for variety and conversation. For smaller parties, there are more open tables with a single pot in the middle. It works well for both big gatherings and smaller groups.

The broth options were all solid, with good variety, and the meat selection was strong. They offer two pricing tiers, one for basic meats and another for premium meats, which gives you flexibility depending on what you are looking for. Everything is unlimited, so you can keep adding as you go.

The vegetable, tofu, and add-ins bar was buffet-style in the center of the restaurant, making it easy to customize your pot. There were also several noodle options, which we liked. In addition, they had a hot food station with items like spring rolls, pretzel bites, chow mein, and fried rice. This was a nice touch, especially while waiting for items in the pot to cook.

Drinks were self-serve fountain drinks, and at the end you can grab small individual ice cream cups for dessert. They also offer specialty drinks like smoothies for an additional cost.

We were there celebrating our daughter’s birthday, and the private room really elevated the experience. There was a TV in the room, and she was able to connect her phone and play her own music, which she loved and made it feel more personal.

Overall, the service was very friendly and welcoming. For us, it was more about the experience than a place we would frequent regularly, but if you enjoy hot pot or are looking for something interactive and different, this is a great option. We would absolutely recommend it to anyone wanting a solid hot pot experience.

Happy Lamb is still the best AYCE Hot Pot chain in Chicago and the Bridgeport Location is no exception!

The Staff is friendly, the food is fresh, and the broth is flavorful.

If you go between 11:30am – 4pm – Monday – Friday you can get AYCE lunch for about $33 after tip.

A small caveat they added a $2 per person “broth fee” which seems like a way to increase the price.

Even still – it’s a great deal to tap into!

Already planning my next visit!
Every time I eat here I always leave full (not the heavy kind of full but a satisfactory type of full), the staff are wonderful and there’s some privacy.
They have two halal meat options but make sure to ask them to not add the meat broth into your desired broth(s).

I stopped by Happy Lamb Hot Pot (Bridgeport) on a chilly evening with friends and it was exactly the kind of communal food experience that hits the spot when you want warmth, flavor, and a little celebration around the table. The thing that stands out right away is how fresh everything feels — from the thinly sliced meats (especially the lamb) to the crisp vegetables and bouncy noodles — and the broth options range from mild and savory to boldly spicy if you’re craving heat.

It’s a pick-your-own adventure sort of meal: you choose your broth base, pile your plate with meats, greens, mushrooms, tofu, and more, then cook it all right at the table in the simmering pot. Between generous portions and lots of little dipping sauces, every bite feels personalized and fun. The vibe inside is casual and lively — people chatting, laughing, juggling chopsticks, and swapping ingredients back and forth — so it feels less like a restaurant and more like a dinner party that just happens to have really good broth.

Service was prompt and helpful with suggestions on broths and sauces, which is nice if you’re new to hot pot. It’s not fancy, but it’s cozy, social, and delicious — perfect for a group outing or when you want a hands-on meal that keeps you warm from the inside out.

Favorite hot pot place!! This was my 3rd visit and I prefer this location over the one in Chinatown. Food is always amazing, i recommend getting the half and half broth (original and spicy).

the buffet was actually very delicious and we enjoyed most of the food. unfortunately, the two plates of lamb smelled really bad. we tried a bite but couldn’t eat it and had to set it aside. after that, the broth also started to smell off. i ended up getting mild food poisoning right after, with cramps and stomach pain that lasted about a week

This was my first hot pot experience and I was extremely disappointed. The reviews were mostly good, so I really had high hopes…

We were a party of two on a Wednesday night so they weren’t very busy. We explained to our server that it was our first time and we had no idea what we were doing. She suggested starting with the traditional broth and said “everything else is buffet style.” That was the last time we saw her. We were given no instructions, no input, nothing.. someone else dropped off the meat, and our server never bothered to check on us again.

The place itself is brand new, very cute, appears clean and well kept. The buffet has lots of options and everything was fresh. The meat was also very good. However, it was INCREDIBLY hot in this restaurant.. to the point the floor was very wet with condensation, we basically had to slide back and forth to the buffet.. the windows were steamy, and the smell of everyone’s random boiling food was in my hair and clothes for days. Very unpleasant.

Two of us was $80 + tip (because of course our server decided to pop up at the register when she saw us leaving.)

If this is how all hot pot restaurants are.. you can count me out.

Before coming here, I read the reviews, and I’m glad I visited this restaurant. The aesthetics of the meal are impressive! You should come here hungry to fully appreciate the first impression. The food is plentiful and affordable. This is an optimal restaurant in terms of price, service quality, and food.

Hotpot here is delicious! My first visit was in November and I’ve been back 3 times since then. Staff is great overall, but the sauce area could use a bit more tlc from time to time! Great cuts of meat, fresh veggies! The broths are both yummy and satisfying!! Great on a cold snowy day!!!
