We LOVE Happy Joe’s. Galena is one of our favorite places to go on vacation and we make a point to stop for pizza, ice cream and fun in the arcade at least once during our stay. The staff is wonderful, the pizza is delicious and the games are modern and fun for the kids. The staff is amazing.. very friendly and willing to help in any way they can. Also- I feel like the train isn’t talked about enough… if you have a few quarters in your pocket, throw them in and watch the train go around a few times… they even have a cool deal that you get a prize if the train stops in correspondence with the listed prize on the wall. We haven’t won yet and the kids were determined to drain my wallet of every quarter last time but maybe next year

This is an awesome quaint little pizza place that reminds of the times past. It has a nice little arcade area for kids, some very good Mexican pizzas, and the staff is very helpful and respectful. What else do these other reviewers need, I don’t know. Please don’t believe every review you see on google. Give this place a shot! You don’t need a 4.6 star rating to be good.

Every time we visit Galena it has become a family tradition to stop at Happy Joe’s. My kids have a great time and we LOVE their Taco Supreme Pizza. It’s not a fancy place by any means, but the staff is always friendly and helpful. I want to send a special shout out to an employee, Adi, from our last visit there. She was so kind, not just to the customers, but her fellow team members. She was taking orders, serving food, cleaning tables, helping kids cash in their tickets for prizes, and scooping ice cream, all while being pleasant and with a smile on her face. We will continue to stop here for future visits into town and recommend Happy Joe’s pizza and ice cream to anyone looking for good food in a family friendly environment.

We are from out of town and stopped in on our way to the Main strip in Galena. We walked in and Roger who I am told is the boss did not great us and pretty much told us t9 go sit down rudely until we were ready to order. We ordered and I had the boneless wings and cheese stir. My wings were cooked but cold. I went to the counter to tell him and he ignored me then when I called him again he was very rude and said they were cooked for 5 minutes in the deep fryer and I told him if he wanted to touch them he could see and again he brushed me off. Maybe they were in the deep fryer but then he left them sit out while everything else was cold. He didnt apologize, didn’t say let me heat them up or make a new batch. He literally sent me back with the cold wings. I will never go back to this place again and the food wasn’t even good. The only reason I gave the service a 2 was because the girl working i believe her name was Kaylaor Kayleigh was very nice and helpful. The atmosphere was kind of cool looking but wh3n the Manager is that bad there is no reason to go there.

My husband and I stopped here for a late lunch yesterday as downtown Galena was super crowded due to the country fair. I didn’t have high expectations for this place when we first came in but our taco pizza was delicious and the service was great. The lunch rush was over so the floor was really dirty, which is the reason for two stars for the atmosphere.

Happy Joe’s. We go here because my sister-in-law is in love with their taco pizza. It’s good! And, I will give their gluten-free crust a 5/5! Sadly, their salads are very ho hum. I honestly haven’t eaten anything else there. The people who work there are nice and attentive, although it’s basically a help yourself place now, no wait staff. Atmosphere is also ho hum, but clean and quiet.

So cute inside! I thought the pizza crust was amazing… crispy yet soft. I think the ranch was homemade. The decor is really cute. I can see how this would be perfect for families. The arcade looked fun.

Pizza buffet. Lots of great variety and good looking salad bar. We were just getting take out, so were a little disappointed. Pizza was just okay. Crust gets pretty soggy on the way home.

Food great as always. New games since last time we were here. The service at this location is some of the best of all time. We vacation in Galena about 6 weekends a year and each time the staff recognizes and welcomes us back. Special shout out to the AMAZING manager Miss Jay as she tells the kids to call her. We have 4 children under the age of 8 and she is beyond welcoming. So many times you take your children out to eat and the staff treats them like 2nd class, or annoying before they even sit down. Not Miss Jay and NOT Galena Happy Joe’s. The team takes the time to treat children with respect, talk directly to them and not over them. Well done Miss Jay and staff and THANK YOU to the ownership team for keeping this place going and hiring the best of the best!

This is a casual restaurant where you place your order at the counter and grab your own plates, utensils, and drinks. The staff were all very friendly and helpful when we needed things. This is a nice place for a kids birthday party because it is casual, they have food kids like, and there are also games to play. Neither my husband or I liked the taste of the pizza (we prefer Casey’s), but my family members like it a lot. It’s nice that they have a white sauce for pizzas.
