I was SO impressed with this delicious food. The pulled pork and brisket were so tender and flavorful , and the portions were easily shareable with our group. Having southern BBQ here in MN is such a treat. You gotta try the scotcharoos 2 ways- yes that’s cotton candy Big points for creativity and taste. We will absolutely be back!

This is THE place. Exceeds expectations in all categories. Great food, great people, great location, great desert, even great sweat tea! The brisket has to be some of the best I’ve ever had. The jalapeño sausage was a favorite for everyone. The ribs were AWESOME! Go there and try it all! If you don’t you are missing out.

I had the pleasure of checking out a new BBQ spot tonight, and I’m honestly so impressed! From the moment I walked in, the vibe was warm and inviting, which just screams small business with big heart. The service was amazing—super friendly and really passionate about what they’re serving. It’s clear they’re all about making sure every customer has a great experience.

Now, let’s talk about the food! The chicken was insanely moist and full of flavor—definitely one of the best I’ve had in a while. And the mac and cheese? I can’t stop thinking about it. Creamy, cheesy, with just the right amount of seasoning, it went perfectly with the chicken. Honestly, those two dishes alone are worth the visit.

If you’re into BBQ or just love good food, this place is a must-try. Small businesses like this need our support, especially when they’re just starting out. By checking it out, you’re not just treating yourself to incredible food—you’re helping a local gem grow. This is the kind of place that makes the community special, and I can’t wait to see it thrive. Definitely go show your support!

Happy HAUS Barbecue didn’t just serve us a meal — it served us a culinary celebration. From the moment we walked through the doors, we were immersed in a warm, inviting atmosphere that hit all the right notes: rustic charm meets elevated comfort, with glowing lighting and a vibrant-yet-relaxed vibe.

The extra dining room felt like a hidden gem — spacious, beautifully lit, and perfect for intimate events. We instantly said, “This is the place to host a groom’s dinner.” It’s got all the makings of a memorable gathering space.

Now, let’s talk about the main event: the food.
Simply put: every bite was next-level.

We started with the burnt ends, and they were absolute perfection — those coveted cubes of brisket, beautifully caramelized, crispy on the outside, and rich, buttery-tender inside, infused with layers of smoke and spice. The brisket followed suit: moist, fall-apart luscious, with that signature smoke ring and a depth of flavor that only comes from hours of patient, passionate barbecue.

And it didn’t stop there. The pulled brisket was insanely juicy. The house-made sausage was smoky and robust, with just the right snap. We couldn’t resist the pulled pork or the smoked chicken either — both were expertly seasoned, succulent, and deeply satisfying. And honestly? The smell when you walk in — was amazing!

The loaded potatoes were a side dish worthy of a spotlight: overflowing with tender brisket, melted cheese, chives, and creamy bliss in every forkful. The burnt onions were a total standout — sweet, smoky, charred just right, adding a bold crunch to every bite. And the pickled onions? A perfect palate cleanser — bright, tangy, and totally addictive.

The cornbread was pure comfort — moist, golden, and slightly sweet, with that delicate crisp edge that tells you it was made with love (and butter).

And then came the sauces… oh, the sauces.
Each house-made barbecue sauce was a flavor masterpiece — sweet, tangy, smoky, spicy — crafted to enhance, not overpower. We tried every one and couldn’t pick a favorite. They were all stars in their own right.

We paired our feast with a chilled, crisp Riesling that complemented the rich, smoky meats beautifully. The drink selection was on point — from thoughtfully selected wines to a variety of craft beers, there’s truly something for every taste.

Just when we thought we couldn’t handle one more bite, we were tempted (and rightly so) by the homemade Key lime pie.
Out. Of. This. World.
Silky-smooth, tart-but-balanced, with a graham cracker crust so perfect it deserved applause. The refreshing citrus finish was exactly what we needed to round out the rich, smoky meal.

And the best part? The value. The portions were generous, the quality was exceptional, and the experience was worth every penny and more.

Whether you’re looking for a laid-back dinner, planning a celebration, or simply chasing the best barbecue around, Happy HAUS is the place to go. The food is phenomenal, the vibe is unbeatable, and you’ll leave full, happy, and already planning your return trip — just like we are.

Pro tip: Don’t skip the burnt ends. Or the pie. Or anything, really. You’ll thank yourself later.

Southern style cooking with southern style hospitality at the right price. I had ribs and a loaded brisket baked potato. It was so delicious and fall off the bone done. I highly recommend this establishment located inside of La Ferme in beautiful downtown Alexandria, MN. I will be returning. 100 Stars!

The food is excellent. We tried brisket and ribs and the meat was flavorful, tender and had a great smoke. The broccoli salad and Waldorf salads were excellent as well and balanced the meal. The cornbread muffins and honey butter were so good they could have been dessert. Speaking of desserts, the scotcharoo is out of this world. The staff is so attentive, warm and welcoming. We can’t wait to come back.

Excellent food, excellent service and wonderful, authentic smoked food experience. Try the brisket, corn bread, and the burnt ends. The homemade bbq sauce was excellent. Good drink options (sweet tea, wine, beer). We had a true southern food experience in the beautiful town of Alexandria. 10/10 would come back!

The meat was moist, warm and the flavor was excellent. I will certainly be back and would highly recommend Happy Haus as one of Alexandria’s top restaurants!
