It’s a little lonely building. Never no cars out front. Decide to take a chance. Walked over from the Petro. But once you get inside everything changes. Very clean and vibrant. The woman at the front was very pleasant. We ordered the hot tea, it can out quickly and hot. My co-driver got the General Taos combination plate with egg drop soup. I ordered the Chicken Szechuan with hot and sour soup. Both got spring rolls with our meals. We also ordered the House Combination lo main. When our soups came out you could tell they were made fresh to order. His egg drop soup had the most eggs I’ve ever seen in a soup. My hot n sour was so pleasantly fresh. When the entrees came out it looked like they made the General Toas with full chicken tenders. I’ve never seen such large pieces and the sauce was delicious. I was over happy when I saw my entrée. There were so many veggie. We were blown away with how many shrimp was in the lo main. Over all the meal was delicious, fresh and full of flavor. We will 100% be going back.

The food here was good, but I’ve had better. Not complaining just saying. It was definitely hot and def fresh. I’d def come back.
Kind if threw me off cause I thought this place was closed. It was open, but I was the only one there. Naturally some people would leave, but I was hungry and didnt care for McDonalds or fast food.
The food was good and FRESH. They could’ve added more pork to my pork fried rice. The serving size was too much. Def no complaints there.
You walk in and the decor was nice. Def had some vibes going on witch I can’t but wonder why I was the only one there (literally)
Anyways I’d recommend going there & inviting friends because this place was empty.

All the great reviews were exactly what made me stop in and have lunch while on layover at the truck stop.
Happy Chen made this trucker happy and then some! Definitely recommend if you are looking for quality Chinese food.
I got the fried shrimp and steam dumplings appetizer. Followed it up with the Happy Family entree with some fried rice. DELICIOUS!
Service was excellent as well!

The chicken noodle soup was amazing — rich flavor, super fresh, and the portion was huge! Great price for such quality. I’m definitely keeping this place on my list. Thank you so much! ❤️

After being on the road for a few weeks, I parked our rig at the Loves. My wife and I were in the mood for something other than the usual truck stop food or something simple on the truck. We had talked about this place before, but we were reluctant to try it because of the many negative reviews. We decided to give it a try this time, despite the negative reviews. My wife had the chicken fried rice, and i had the crispy beef with fried rice. All we can say is, wow! The food was amazingly flavorful! The portions were generous. And the price was fair. The couple running the place were very friendly. We ordered our food to go and went back to the truck to enjoy it. We were delighted by just how enjoyable it was! We are very glad we decided to give it a chance and will definitely be back! Happy to have found this little gem so close to the truckstop!

We walked over from the truck stop. We had planned to order online, but their site requires you to register and it would not recognize my email? So, we decided to just dine in. It is a nice, clean location. Food came out quickly and was fresh.
Hubs ordered a pepper steak combination with fried rice, wonton soup and an egg roll. He said the egg roll was good and the veggies were fresh. The broth of the soup tasted good, but he said the wontons didn’t have much flavor. He was not a fan of the fried rice and said that the pepper steak did not taste like pepper steak.
I had chicken and broccoli and enjoyed it, though it also tasted different from what I am accustomed to, just not in a bad way. The chicken pieces were large and free of gristle, though they could have been marinated to get the flavor into the meat. The sauce was flavorful and the broccoli was fresh and well-cooked. The white rice was a good texture.
I liked that the food came out in to-go containers so you can just put a lid on leftovers and take it with you- very smart. Staff was cordial.

Stopped at the TA next door for my break, and much to my delight there is this great restaurant within walking distance. I got the general tsos and some hot & sour soup, and it’s the first time in several months that I’m not disappointed! If I ever pass this way agae, I will definitely stop in again! Thank you.

I was psyched to go here because of all the praising reviews. I ended up disappointed. I got the Kung Pao Chicken Dinner Special. The wonton soup was good. But the Kung Pao Chicken was as bland as dry Cheerios. There was plenty of food, but zero flavor. The people were nice and service was prompt so I may give a second chance.

I can not figure out why this place isn’t busier. The empty bowl is my hot and sour soup… or was. Hot and sour soup seems to be like American stew is different wherever you go. Sometimes it’s not so good and a little weird and sometimes… it’s fantastic! That is this hot and sore soup. It is everything you’d expect. It is spicy, but no so spicy it takes your breath away, perfect amount of heat. The flavor is what you expect from traditional hot and sour soup bursting with flavor! The chicken fried rice was spectacular. Well executed will with, eggs, carrots, peas, chicken and seasoning that gives it a full bodied flavor. The sesame chicken is a star. It has no spice but the amount of sweetness to allow you to devour the whole dish.
This place is empty at 12:30, lunch time! I’m very surprised. If you’ve not eaten here. Or if you’ve seen the parking lot empty, don’t let that detract you. This place is a gem. The people are very nice. The food is spectacular.
$35 for two people!

The building is a little dated, but the food, OMG. Had salt and pepper tofu, egg foo young, sweet and sour soup. Came out great. Food was hot, freshly made. If you’re ever in that area, stop and grab something to eat. Also, if you’re a truck driver, you can park at the Love’s Travel Stop, walk over the Happ Chen and enjoy some good hot food.
UPDATE: When passing through the Carlisle, PA, we always try to stop at this place. On this occasion, we were able to dine in. We had salt and pepper tofu, Shrimp Fried Rice and Moo Shi Shrimp. While eating, we had the opportunity to talk with one of the owners. She was super nice and advised that they have owned a restaurant for around 30 years. They are thinking about retirement, but like most of us, they are not quite ready. Stop by, enjoy some good food, and maybe have a good conversation with one of the owners.
