Wow! Great place!!! What a great treat while on a long trip from Tahoe to vegas. The place itself appears to be very antique but well kept and the service is genuine and very friendly. Some of that small town charm. We came in with two pups and the bartender immediately offered a water bowl and the older gentlemen brought us dog treats. Superb.
The chili itself was actually delicious and while the price is pretty steep for what it is, all things considered (location; accessibility to things, costs of everything nowadays) I’m okay paying it for the experience and quality of what is normally very basic food.
The ambiance is very inviting and there is both indoor and outdoor seating.

Happy Burro Chili & Beer is exactly what the name promises. Chili that warms your soul and beer that makes you forget you’re in the middle of the desert. Their chili is so good it should come with a warning label, because one bowl turns into three before you know it. The place has that small-town charm where you half expect a cowboy (or an actual burro) to join you at the bar. If happiness had a flavor, it would taste like this chili and wash down with this beer.

Great stop on our way north. Icy cold beer and good chili. On our way out we were greeted by 4 burros looking for handouts. Fun time. Cute photos.

Fabulous dive bar that you won’t want to miss. The chili really is something! The bartender is a doll. We heard it will have a new owner soon. Hopefully they keep the charm.

Walk into this tiny bar and make yourself comfortable as if you were in someone’s living room because basically that’s what feels like. The beer (several choices including PBR) is cold and the chili is the only thing on the menu. The chili is deceptively filling – you won’t be hungry for a while. You may have the privilege of sharing the space with some locals as well – it’s not just for tourists. When the new steampunk Exchange Club & Casino across the street opens, this place will be mad so try to make it out here while Beatty remains a cheap outpost from which to explore Death Valley & Central West Nevada (with cheap gas across the street).

Enjoyed a delicious chili dog and a beer in a frosted mug. It was kind of cold outside, but it was nice and toasty in the bar. The service was excellent and so friendly! They also let me bring my small dog. If I am in the area, I will be sure to stop in and say hi. Thank you for welcoming us Las Vegas city slickers!

Wonderful place with a warm welcome
We had a great experience here, thanks especially to the incredibly friendly lady who served us. The atmosphere was relaxed and welcoming, and the setting itself was charming and well-kept.
A truly enjoyable stop, we can only recommend it!

When you need to grub down either before an epic Death Valley trip or just after, this place is great. And you can go next door to the Saloon and crushed a couple cold ones.

Tried their locally famous Chili. The bowl cost $7. At first glance I was a little disappointed with the size of the bowl, but happily the chili was so thick (no visible liquid) and meaty that the portion was just the right size. Two types of beef are used, and the seasonings and spices (it has a little zip to it) make for a tasty, filling treat. Served with chopped onions, crackers and a lively atmosphere. I recommend you give the Happy Burro a try.

Great chili cheese dog, and everything with chili. The ambiance is great and quiet outside. The staff is very nice too! The prices are reasonable.
