Well…., this is kind of a mix review. I walked in, said Howdy and the young Asian girl almost panicked, with her eyes big and mouth opened, Appearing to be in shock. There was silence for a second or two, then I asked if she was OK. I said I would like to eat, and then she let out the biggest sigh I had ever seen. She then said, “Oh, I thought something bad was about to happen and I was afraid”! I said, what bad did she think was about to happen? She then figured out that she had messed up and tried to clean it up. I was confused because, as a 60-year-old, non-threatening looking Old African-American Preacher, Don’t know why she would feel threatened. I have not experienced that before, and I really started to turn around and walk out but, this was my first time here and I really wanted to try this place. I must say, that I am really glad that I did because, the food was simply scrumptious!!!! I had hot and sour dumpling soup with barbecue steamed buns and it was “TO DIE FOR”! Glad I have big shoulders and thick skin and decided to stay. It was well worth it. Hopefully, management will see this, speak with her about racial sensitivity, and help her to see that all people are not bad people! Lord, willing, I will be back and try some of the other things on the menu that I really like. The prices are competitive with other restaurants and overall, I give this place a B+.

I’ve had this place on my list to try since it opened, and I was underwhelmed. We don’t go out a lot, because we have 4 kids, so I was excited to try it for date-night. The place was beautiful, waitress was nice. Food was … meh. The chicken soup dumplings didn’t have any broth inside and were bland, no flavor. Kimchi buns, also no flavor. Beef cabbage dumplings, flavor. Beef buns were decent, but again, minimal flavor. Honestly, the best things we ate were the green beans and the duck (although it tasted a little old, according to my husband). Also, my husband ordered the duck and realized after we started eating he was supposed to get a pancake with it. We asked the waitress, she said they were out, she just substituted white rice (which we didn’t eat). I wish she would have told us when we ordered or even when it was being made. Also, the food is pricey, but what’s isn’t nowadays, I guess … On a positive note, the staff was friendly and the restaurant was clean. I’m glad I got to try it, but I won’t be back again.

Do not let the other reviews sway you from trying this restaurant! We enjoyed everything and found the price is comparable to other restaurants. The service was great and the restaurant is cute. The bartender made some killer drinks too! This is going on rotation for us.

Recommend the crab Rangoon, pork soup dumplings and the spicy noodle. We had the zah jiang noodles, it was something we never had before. It was fresh but just wasn’t our thing, maybe it’s yours?

I’m very happy I can get soup dumplings so close to home!! The only thing I would suggest is for the restaurant to get wider soup spoons for the dumplings.

I’m trying to be considerate, because I know this restaurant is new, but I do see why this has some questionable reviews… First of all, the prices are HIGH. I guess that’s just how it is nowadays but I didn’t think the portion sizes came close to justifying the price. They were sold out of multiple things we tried to order. I feel like a good portion of the menu was unavailable. The service was slow. All the food came out sporadically. We had to ask the waiter for the check after we sat there unattended for a while. The food was pretty good. Kimchi steam buns lacked flavor. The spicy dumpling soup was not a soup at all, rather than dumplings drowned in hot oil… nothing was what I wanted it to be.

Hello MANSFIELD and the entire DFW METROPLEX!!!!! I’M BACK…… This is 16th time here and I HAVE NEVER BEEN DISAPPOINTED!!! So come eat and be catered too like no other!!!

Mannnn!!! Has anyone stopped by to try the new items on the menu…. Emma was my waitress today and she ALWAYS GREET EVERY CUSTOMER WITH A BEAUTIFUL SMILE! She decided to allow me to experience something new!!! I totally trust her judgment! First, she introduced me to a hot and sour soup that has mushroom and tofu in it! It was so refreshing !!! It little appetizing hungry craving you have after a great church service. SOOOO….Then she hit me with the unmeasurable… words cannot explain secret weapon: CURRY CHICKEN!!! WHEN I SAY THE CURRY CHICKEN IS ON it is!!! I don’t mean (hot & spicy) I MEAN AAAAA- MAZZZZZ-INNNNNN!!!! Wendy did an excellent job having this entree as one of the new STAR DISH items on the menu! I appreciate all of the team members. The manager on duty Nell ….. was spectacular today! I witness him jump from behind the bar to the floor as a waiter! I know the customers were well pleased!!! I even helped two new customers try some amazing entrees for the “first time.” So COME ON DFW MAKE HAPPY BUNS GO OFF THE CHARTS…. and for those who come… PLEASE KEEP IN MIND… this is not a fast food restaurant! Everything comes out the way it does because it is made fresh to order! It’s a system to their way of doing things so embrace the atmosphere…. take time to breathe and be catered to!!! Again, if you are use to fast food that will not match the beautiful atmosphere then this authentic experience is NOT FOR YOU!!!! So know that each staff member speaks to you kindly, respect your time spent there and really want to make your experience expectations unbelievably!!!! So be clear…. This team has gracefully met all of my expectations to the top tier! Love you guys…. Talk to you soon!!!! Sunshine signing out!!!

The wife located this restaurant on TikTok and shared it with me. I am going to say that the food we ordered was pretty darn good. I don’t get paid to eat at places so I already knew for four (4) people that was going to be a large bill…(And it was..lol). Plus, they do not offer military discount either just a fyi…. Even with the food coming out at various times really did not bother us it gave us time to enjoy the other foods before the table became too crowded. Service was great and never had to ask for a refill cause she was changing them quickly. Atmosphere was on point as well..Clean restrooms, tables and floors. We will have to come back without the little ones.
Side Note: The Soju took me back to the time I was stationed in Korea. I’m not going to tell any stories about that one..lol..Thank you for getting me to remember my younger years.

Ok…if you know me you know that I NEVER make posts like this. I get paid to eat and review new restaurants. Happy Buns in Mansfield, Tx. The food wasn’t bad. Before we tried Happy Buns I read some reviews and one of the biggest things was all of the food didn’t come out at the same time. I spent $100 on 9 buns and rice. When the server brought our rice out first, I asked him if he could keep the rice back there and bring all of our food at the same time. He told me NO!!! I’m spending $100 on 9 buns and rice and he couldn’t fulfill my request even after I told him I didn’t care about the temperature of the food. Over the course of 15 minutes we have different dishes coming out. Again, the food was not bad….but it’s absolutely terrible to me for the price that we pay, that they can’t bring all of the food out at the same time. We are finishing certain dishes and waiting for the rest of our food. I EVEN TALKED TO THE MANAGER!!! Maybe I’m trippin, but it destroyed my experience there. Forgive me if I’m out of pocket.

Many of the negative reviews seem to focus on service, but keep in mind this spot is still new and working on improvements. I personally thought the staff were really nice and welcoming, and you could tell they were trying to do their best. I have tried many Chinese/Taiwanese restaurants in DFW and although the food didn’t come out all at the same time, the food itself was surprisingly good – flavorful and well-prepared. The menu is full of delicious authentic dishes and currently my favorites are the spicy garlic cucumbers, pork soup dumplings (tasted even better dipped in the cucumber sauce), and salted egg custard buns. I highly recommend giving this place a chance – I know I’ll be coming back to try more dishes!

We ordered the Taiwanese popcorn chicken and calamari- both were dry, rubbery, and the calamari completely lacking in flavor. The calamari looked nothing like the photos on the menu. Its batter was soggy, with an unpleasant old oil taste, and came with no dipping sauce to help it out.

The “spicy soy sauce roast pork noodles” turned out to be basic Chinese BBQ pork noodles, and even that was just okay… comparable to something you’d get at Panda Express. The pork itself was dry and uninspired. As for the crab rangoon, well, it’s hard to mess this one up, but the dipping sauce tasted like it was straight from a generic sweet and sour jar.
Overall, a huge letdown. The food felt lazy and careless, and I’m genuinely confused by the rave reviews. Definitely not somewhere I’d return or recommend.

The food is pretty decent taste wise. Definitely overpriced in my opinion. The food came out at different times which was annoying. They delivered our food 2 separate times for the apps, 2 times for the main entrees and another 2 times for additional things we ordered with the entrees. Drinks were $14 so we didnt even try one. When we went to pay our waitress tried to add a thing we didnt order onto the check and they didnt give back one of my friends credit cards. It was fine to try but wont be going back
