This Chinese restaurant is one of my all-time favorites! I always have to order the pickled vegetable fish soup and the fried chicken with mala spice — they’re absolute must-tries! The restaurant also offers a hotpot option, and it’s just as delicious. Everything tastes amazing every time. I’m in love!

gorgeous place and even better food, it’s so delicious. you order using an ipad so don’t need to talk to staff. You get seen and served incredibly fast, served in less than 10 minutes, closer to 5 minutes. you get plenty of food and it’s a good price for what you get. it is mainly quiet making it chill and fast service, love it and will definitely come again

Absolutely loved the food, and it gets more cost effective the more people you have. We had the hot pot set menu and it was more than enough for 2 of us. Also want to give a shout out to our server, he went above and beyond to deliver our food and did a great job!

I dined twice in this restaurant recently. The first time the food wasn’t great. However, I tried again as the menu was extensive and I always saw some Chinese people dining here. I do not think I will visit again. The quality of some basic food items were not great, such as plain rice and jasmine tea. Everything seemed to have been stored in a freezer, except for some veggies such as cucumber, leek and lettuce. It is a common practice for a UK restaurant to store food in freezer to mitigate loss, but some dishes do not freeze well (roasted meat, for instance), and then this rice… To be fair, the food was inexpensive, and the portion size was large.

One of the Best Chinese restaurants in Durham. Spicy and tasty! Good service as well. Slightly pricey, if can provide smaller portion and drop the price a little bit that would be more popular!!!

The food was extremely salty and didn’t feel like it was freshly made in the restaurant. We ordered the pickled cabbage fish, but the soup was overly thick and there was very little broth, which was quite odd for this type of dish. As for the braised pork trotter rice, we had high expectations for a comforting meal, but it turned out to be unbearably salty. Even the few strands of lettuce on the side were excessively salty. We couldn’t finish the food and unfortunately will not be returning.

Authentic Sze Chuan cuisine. Although the ordering process (via ipad) is not very friendly, the servers were great to help customise the dishes and flexible. My family enjoyed the dishes. 好吃!

We visited for a hot pot and loved it. The food was prepared within 20 minutes and so yummy … We had a couple soups (Thai and mushroom), meat platter, mushrooms, dumplings and noodles plus drinks. Tea was very tasty and so was lychee drink . It was a lovely atmosphere and a full house! We will be back very very soon!

I wanted to like this. We had the bbq option and there were only 2 other tables. We waited 40mins just to get our drinks which was red wine. They served this in an ice bucket which would be fine if it was white.
The food took over an hour to arrive which wasnt good as we are cooking it ourselves.
The rice was luke warm and I didnt risk eating it.
The meat was tough and I left feeling hungry and very disappointed.
Its a lovely setting but they really need to improve the service.
I won’t use again and wouldn’t recommend it.

The food is really good. We’ve chosen from the Chinese menu rather than the British so it’s a wee bit spicier. The dandan noodles is okay, pretty standard, the chicken with szechuan peppers were amazing! Still have to try the mapo tofu but will try it next time
