Alice and Hank established this restaurant in April of 1971. Hank could be found behind the bar at that time and Alice was cooking in the kitchen. In 1982, Lyn and Roland LaCharite stepped into the footsteps of Lyn’s esteemed parents, they embraced the legacy while infusing their unique vision and dedication into the heart of the business. For nearly five decades, the Comtois & LaCharite family has been known for its home style food and family friendly oriented service. In 2024, Hank’s Restaurant embarks on an exciting new chapter with passionate new owners at the helm. Steering this historic business into the future are Matt and Amy St. Laurent, representing the next generation of forward-looking local entrepreneurs.

Always drove by this place going to rhode island or Massachusetts for work. Tried it today. Service was a bit slow, looks like it was the bartender doing the tables as well. She was friendly, but was spread thin especially when she had to run the bar. The food was good, fries were nice and crispy, price of the food was ok, its more of a bar atmosphere, so nothing fancy.

I recently tried Hanks after seeing some mixed reviews, and I have to say it completely exceeded my expectations. The food was very good — honestly better than I anticipated. Everything tasted fresh, well-seasoned, and made with care.
The flavors were spot on, portions were solid, and the overall experience was enjoyable. Whatever concerns I had going in were quickly forgotten once the food came out.
If you’re on the fence because of mixed reviews, I’d definitely recommend giving Hanks a try for yourself. I’m glad I did and would absolutely go back.

Hank’s is hands down one of the best spots in the neighborhood. The food is always on point, comforting, and done really well — the kind of place you keep coming back to because you know it’s going to be good every single time.

Been going to Hanks now for over 20 years. Always good food, almost always great service. Tonight, friday,Jan 2, 2026, was no different, hubby got the prime rib, he said it was so good. Then it happened. Oh no, what. He was stuck to the booth. The booth was ripped, the spring came through and stabbed his backside. He managed to free himself from the spring, but it had ripped his jeans. He called over the waitress, not our waitress but the first one he saw. He told her what happened, spring came through the rip in the booth and snagged his jeans and backside and ripped his jeans. She was awesome, apologized and went and got tape to temp fix the booth. Between hubby and the nice waitress together, they were able to temp fixed the booth. The waitress apologized again, said the owner was in house and she would notify him immediately and said he would come over and make sure everything was OK. Not only was he notified of the issue, but only came out of the kitchen to converse with people in another booth. Smh! Hanks, shame on you. You need to do better! you just lost our business. May not be much, loosing our measly $100 monthly meal, but we have standards on where we spend our hard earned money. It’s unfortunate that we will never go back. A simple check in and a personal apology from the owner, who was present, would have made all the difference. Koodos to the great (blonde) waitress. Wish I could remember her name, she was great.

My family and I stopped in for lunch after getting our Christmas tree. We were seated timely and thats where timelyness ended. We each ordered three burger lunch specials and two kids lunch burgers and an onion ring appetizer. We got our drinks, and the app about 15 minutes later. Two other groups were seated around the same time. One group had their food soon after they were seated and ended up finishing and paying before we got our food, the other group got theirs before us and their group was bigger than ours. When we got our 5 burgers and fries about an hour after being seated, the burgers were pretty dry and over done the buns were very stale and the fries seemed like they had been cooked and sat under a heat lamp for a while before they were served to us. I have been here before and had good food but likely wont be going back after this.

We were out of town and needed a late lunch. Found Hank’s only 4 miles from our location on route home, conveniently located on Route 6. This is popular for the locals, and we were not disappointed. Service from start to finish was amazing with loving hospitality! The food was hot and full of flavor ! Strongly recommended and moments from Route 395 if you’re passing by! You can’t miss out stopping in here!

Hanks has been our go to Saturday night restaurant for approximately the last nine months. Every single week the food is great, the staff is welcoming and warm, every last person that we come in contact with makes it a wonderful experience in fine dining. I highly recommend Hank’s for a special And enjoyable dining experience!
I love coming to hanks. I love the staff I love the ambience and the great food. I love knowing that Walter is making my Prime Rib and it comes out wonderfully every single time! Hanks is my go to for Saturday nights now and has been for several months! Keep up the great work the food and the fun is what life is all about!
As an update I’m adding this on May 30, 2022:
It has really been a tremendous amount of fun planning for and eating dinner at Hanks every Saturday night for the past year and the friends that we have there now really give us something to look forward to absolutely love the food and JP does a great job with the prime rib! We love the servers, the bartenders and pretty much everyone associated with Hanks.
Do yourself a favor and drop by for a treat!
