Really good burger and fries. I do feel that the prices are a bit on the higher side especially since there isn’t much table service. That being said the burger is delicious. The caramelized onions are out of the world and you can tell they have taken a lot of time into crafting such a good burger. The staff is also very kind, so hats off to them for great service. I will definitely be coming back to try the fish fry.

Always a good spot. The fish as always was great. Good for a Friday Fish Fry.
The only thing that could have been better is the chips. I felt they was just a smidgen old, not to old, just not right on spot as they usually are. My buddy Garrett scarfs his down immediately and could not give me his true opinion.
We was lucky and got to sit outside and eat, away from the bar area. This restaurant is good to bring kids to.

3 stars. went there after work one day as I was craving a burger and a beer. wasn’t sure if they served beer there or not but saw one in the pics. they do NOT serve beer, nor do they have any seating. It’s attached to a bar (muskelounge. great bar btw). but do not have separate seating. it’s a carry out place only.
food was decent but not anything special. Fry portions were large which was nice but not worth $20.
i suppose you could order and eat at the bar but good luck finding a seat. I was there on a Tuesday at 5:30pm and it was packed.

We grabbed Hanks for dinner after trying to visit the Musky and finding it waaay too busy for us to sit and eat there.

Staff at Hanks: AMAZING. Super friendly, helpful, professional and fast. Absolutely pro on every level.

We ordered a cheeseburger, a double Hank burger, waffle fries, curds and onion rings.

We live very close to this location so the drive was quick and short. We opened the food and gave it a try.

Curds: slightly greasy, salty and good. Breading was flavorful, and you get a lot of them for the price. If you like salt, you’ll love these. I like salt a lot and found them ever so slightly too salty.

Onion rings were good; the batter was fantastic.

Waffle fries were delicious – very excellent seasoning and perfectly cooked.

The burgers were much bigger than we expected, and cooked perfectly. I actually wish they had been a little smaller

We were expecting thin smash burgers; these were more like the thickness of a whopper but much better flavor and quality. The burgers weren’t overly greasy. And unfortunately they didn’t have a ton of flavor or texture. Would’ve loved to have a heavy sear on these and a slightly thinner burger. Next time, we’ll grab single cheese burgers.

All in all, this was a solid meal, but it felt pretty heavy and slightly over salted/rich.

If I was at the Musky and enjoying some beverages, this food would really hit the spot. As take out on its own, it was pretty ordinary.

Oh – should also add, service was FAST! Like 6 minutes from walk-in to walk-out. The staff is on it!

After reading the reviews we decided to place an order for pick-up and try the food for ourselves. The food was ready quickly and waiting on the counter, but not in a place with a heat warmer so our food wasn’t the hottest unfortunately. We ordered the chicken tender basket and a cheeseburger adding the special Hank sauce, tomato, and lettuce to the burger. It was very blah. The meat patty was supposedly 4oz and was no thicker than a fastfood patty aka think McDonald’s regular cheeseburger. In fact, I think I would have preferred McDonald’s. Both entrees were disappointing to say the least. The chicken tenders were small (not much bigger than chicken fingers), the waffle fries were mediocre, and the tiny container of coleslaw was half-full at best. The biscuit was the best part of the entire order. We thought the food was pricey, not good, and not a place we’d recommend or return to.

I’ll start out by saying the fish and the chicken sandwich were both good. that being said, the place just feels like they are cheaping out with some stuff. With my fish fry basket I got 6, 2-3 inch pieces of fish and the rest was fries. the fish itself aren’t particularly remarkable. Chicken sandwich felt more appropriate for its price and trying a bite of my wifes’, I wish I’d just gotten one. Meal left me hungry and disappointed. For reference my fish was $18 and my wife’s chicken sandwich was $10. I would definitely say look somewhere else before coming here.

Let’s start with the good:
-Burgers were excellent, exactly what you want in a burger. Greasy perfection.
-Cheese curds with ranch were awesome, would highly recommend. The curds had the proper coating (similar to the Old Fashioned) and the ranch is homemade and one of the highlights.
-Service was great, they estimated the wait time down to the minute, which was pretty impressive.
-They use compostable containers and silverware.

Less good:
-Fish fry was good, very passable and enjoyable, but for $18 it felt like it wasn’t quite worth it.
– The fries were underseasoned and pretty forgettable.
-I’d skip the root beer shake if I had to do it over again, I just didn’t prefer the ice cream they used.
-The prices were a little high- $70 for 2 adults and a kiddo is steep, but I’m sure they use high quality ingredients and the small stuff like compostable containers adds up.

I really wanted to give this place a 5 as we are Sean Pharr fans, hoping with a few small adjustments I can change my rating. If/when we go again, I’d stick to a simple cheeseburger and cheese curds with ranch, that’s the move here.

On the search for the perfect Friday Fish Fry, this is the one so far, yet many more to sample. They allow you to have more than one kind of fish; Perch, Cod & Musky. Wisconsin loves thier Musky, so I tried that with the Perch. I was not disappointed. I will bring my friends here. Just arrive early on the weekends as the locals grab the parking spots. You may just have to make your own space, as a lot of the customers did to dine here. You can eat here, or take it to gom

My new favorite burger in Madison. (Also a big fan of the Graze burger). Bun, seasoning, condiments all on point. Kids loved the chocolate shake. I very much appreciated the compostable containers, even for the condiments! Decided I wanted to try all the things so got the double cheeseburger, cheese curds and chili cheese fries paired with a beer from next door. Ate kale salad the next day to make up for my cheat night!

I have been told the walleye was amazing, a little expensive however they make up in quantity. I was also told the smash burgers were really good. The burgers are not made in house (Very odd), although they are OK but lack that fresh fried pizzazz. The walleye that they served me was not walleye and lacked any kind of flavor or quantity. I mentioned this to the young man at the counter and he assured me it was. One bite and I went back to the counter. He once again assured me it was. I did not feel like fighting with him over his obvious lack of knowledge. Now the waffle fries are amazing. If we go back it will be for the waffle fries. From what the bartender said, the chicken sandwich is amazing.
