Social Profile:

Named for a significant part of the city’s history, Hangar 6 Air Cafe opened in 2016 to offer Uvalde a classic diner and a spot to kick back and have a good time. During World War II, Hangar 6 Flight School at Garner Field was one of the top-ranking army pilot training schools. Our restaurant occupies the space of the old hangar, and we’re proud of the history that permeates our place. With craft brews, live music, a happy hour, a full menu of classic American diner fare, and so much more, we’ve become a destination for locals and travelers alike. Shared with Public

I had the Stearman burger…it had arugula Swiss cheese fried egg tomato jam and a hint of balsamic. Amazing.
Husband had the T6 I think. Bacon and onion rings pepper jack cheese and BBQ sauce also super. The onion rings had a nice batter kinda reminds me of long John silver batter with out the fishy taste of course.
It wad Saturday 11am and they were not busy at all….go visit it was great. And you get to see some planes fly in

Such a cool place.
Planes and helicopters.
The food was excellent, fantastic cocktail and our server Abby was the sweetest thing ever. AND it’s dog friendly! We were in the area for 2 days and loved it so much, we went both days!

Took Clients for lunch after the new opening. It used to be good but the food was pretty bad. Lemon Pepper Chicken wings were too salty to eat. Burgers are half the size they were before and they changed the burger menu. Fries were good. My clients ordered steak fingers. They were dry and overcooked. Highly disappointed and wont return, especially not with clients. They are only quarter as good as before. Bill for one burger, two steak finger baskets and one order of chicken wings starter was over $100.

Tried the Cuban Sandwich and it was delicious. Need to try the Coleslaw that was so good.I would come back for that. Hubby got the Chicken Fried chicken and that was good too. The chicken breast nice and tender.

Very cool place to grab a bite and watch the air traffic. This is a must visit for aviation enthusiasts.

We tried the fried mushrooms, chicken fried chicken with jalapeno gravy, chicken sandwich, and a chicken salad. All very good. My entire group would definitely come back here again.

I’ll be honest, the Hangar’s food used to be pretty hit or miss. It got to the point where we stopped going as often because we were rarely satisfied. But recently, I went back with some friends for the first time in a long while, and I was blown away. Every plate at our table was picture-perfect and packed with flavor. The staff has always been friendly – sometimes a little rushed, but that’s understandable. Overall, it was a fantastic experience, and I’m glad we gave it another shot. Highly recommend the cheese curds, shrimp tacos, fettuccine alfredo, any of the burgers, and of course the mile high club!

We chose this place cuz it was dog-friendly. Ordered the mile high club. Presentation was nice, and quality ingredients were used, not that lame iceberg lettuce crap. Service was fast and friendly, from ordering to paying. Would return if we were ever in the area again. FYI: The place is not off of a main road, so you do have to drive into the aviation area.

Hangar 6 offers a unique dining experience with a great ambiance and the exciting opportunity to watch airplanes as you enjoy your meal. The atmosphere was definitely a highlight. I ordered a burger, which tasted good and was cooked well. However, about two hours after eating, I had terrible stomach pain, which was quite disappointing. While the setting and the food were enjoyable at the moment, the after-effects left me hesitant to return.

This is a fun restaurant in an historic setting, and their menu gives the history. We enjoyed our food and the service was top notch. I had the VooDoo shrimp salad and my husband had the club sandwich with coleslaw. We had an order of French fries. The fries were excellent. We would recommend all of the dishes we had. There is wine and beer available. Diner-style decor.
