Is Hangar 39 Closed permanently? Anyone know what is going on?

I think we need to go to Hopland now or settle for the UBC Chicken Sandwich. Not sure there is a good burger left in Ukiah. Be-Bop’s?

Delicious food and good service! My husband had their burger with bacon and onion jam which he loved. I really enjoyed the Braised Pork Shank, but I LOVED the butternut squash gnocchi. They need to make that a main course because I could eat it ALL day!
They do have a s menu but so far everything is tasty!

The food is fantastic, the drinks are creative and delicious, and the staff is amazing! I was drawn in by their drink with edible pansies, and it didn’t disappoint.

For starters, they served fresh, homemade focaccia bread. I had an excellent, heaping salad of local greens. Their veggie wellington was spectacular as well! To top it all off, the desert was a modification of their typical offering made with Chambord and was very yummy!

What sets Hangar 39 apart is their friendly, attentive staff. The restaurant is obviously gorgeous and the food was of great quality. The staff brought it all together, ensuring our water was never empty, advising on tasty drinks, and serving us with care.

I loved eating here and hope to do so again soon!

We were on our way to Ferndale and decided to stop at Hangar39. This was our first time here and from the time we walked in, we were greeted with a smile and seated immediately. Loved the ambiance. Our server, Jessica was super friendly, funny and she was on top of everything! We shared the tomahawk steak, truffle fries, steamed clams & creme brûlée for dessert. All dishes were delicious & fantastic! The bottle of wine we ordered, Seebass Old Vine Zin was outstanding! My husband and I really loved the steamed clam sauce and couldn’t stop eating it! Sooo good! If you get a chance to stop by here, go check them out! You won’t be disappointed!

After reading the reviews we came here because it was close to where we were staying and it was open. Our waitress was friendly and efficient but the food didn’t wow me. The herbed focaccia bread was crunchier than I liked. My dinner mates didn’t care for it. We also ordered the curly cheese fries but the slow cooked pork was on the drier side. My friend was ok with the appetizer baby back ribs but she didn’t touch the bed of slaw because it didn’t have any dressing except leftover BBQ sauce from the ribs so it seemed a waste. We also had a margherita pizza that was ok, nothing dazzling. I read another review where the reviewer said their steak was undercooked so I ordered a medium Angus Hangar steak and it was a little on the rarer side which is how I like it. They ran out of Yukon potato purée (mashed potatoes) so they gave me vegetables but you can see from my pic that it was a sad looking presentation. Everything was saltier than I liked. The asparagus was over salted and the outside the steak was as well. I don’t tend to complain especially since I was hungry and wanted to get out of there so I did finish the meat and ended up being thirsty late into the evening. . I’d note that the interior of the restaurant is very nice.

I really wanted to like this place. It’s the third restaurant at this location that is trying to make it and we could use some nice restaurants in Ukiah. My wife liked the vegetarian wellington (which is sacrilege in my book, but I’ll admit it did taste very good). My mother had the chicken which she also liked. I ordered the filet which was only OK. The spices overpowered all of the other flavors. The service was excellent.

So what was wrong? Well, a lot of little things. First, the filet, the most expensive item on the menu, should be amazing, not mediocre. Second, the music was annoying. Not soothing. Think hip-hop & dance music played too loud. Why not some soft jazz or mellow music? Third, the men’s room had sticky floors that were so sticky I wasn’t sure I’d get out of there with my shoes staying on. It reminded me of a dirty theater. Fourth, it had a limited menu which particularly was a problem for the appetizers. The selection was very narrow. I couldn’t find a single appetizer I wanted. I understand that this is a new place and COVID makes everything different which is why I gave it 3 stars instead of 2. I will try it again in 6 months. For a restaurant that wants to be upscale, it should have been much better.

We enjoyed a nice meal last evening. Deborah was an excellent server..
The adult bevs were good, and if you want extra olives in your dirty martini (Skye is well, by the way) you gettum. I got 6 olives!
The gnocchi app is a winner, we only wish there was bread on the table to dip up that remaining brown butter.
Salad with pear and goat cheese was a standout.
The burger(complete with “hangar 39” brand on bun)filled the bill for the burger hound. The curley fries with pulled pork(subbed) were just ok, but that said, he ate all of them.
I was not as pleased with the skimpy pizza: the blue pig. The toppings were skimpy, shaved paper thin, and the Bleu cheese seemed to have been reduced to salt. The pizza crust also was very thin. Thank goodness for the nice heap of Arugula on top. I think I’d take a hard pass on the pizza, next time (I def would come back!) except as an appetizer to share.
We skipped dessert, but they did have a nice selection.
Thank you, Hangar 39

Our first time eating here at Hanger 39 and they served an amazing eating experience. We started with Husch Cabernet and the Roasted Beet Arugula Salad, then was extremely pleased with the Grass Fed Beef Filet. Perfectly seasoned and cooked to our liking. The food here is so worth five stars.

I had the pleasure of eating at Hangar 39 this past weekend. I can’t say enough good things about this restaurant! I could have lived off of their house made bread. I got the Hangar steak and it was cooked to perfection. My friend got an appetizer of Brussel sprouts and the portion size was like a dinner and seriously one of the best things I’ve ever eaten! I could not stop eating them!! My mother in law got the gluten free pizza and she said it was the best pizza she had ever had. The service was impeccable and the food will definitely have us driving the 3 hours to go back. I highly highly recommend you try this place!

Mediocre food, at higher prices, in a familiar building that has a new name.

I was very excited to try out this new addition to Ukiah’s restaurant lineup. The promise of an Airplane themed eatery with steak and burgers was a dream come true.  This building housed previous steak houses “Branches ” and “Crush” and is well suited for a nice atmosphere with an attached Pub.

On entry, you are greeted by a bent propeller and airplane wreckage pieces arranged on the wall. Theres not much apart from those pieces that make it feel airplane themed. The restaurant looks almost identical to it’s previous iterations.

I ordered the Fillet ($46) and it was very disappointing. A bit of meat resting on a couple slices of potato and topped with bits of grass. There wasnt any special seasonings or spices or flavor that made this meal feel special. It was cooked fine, and tasted like steak, but definitely didn’t fit the price tag. There were no extras like side salad or mashed potatoes just the couple slices on the bottom.

The menu was pretty limited because this is a “soft opening” but their beer selection was also pretty narrow in the pub. I heard the wait staff say several times to different parties that they were out of certain beers. Beer prices were also on the higher end for Ukiah.

I might try it again in a few months to see if anything changed, but as is, I’m not recommending this to folks. Save your money or go to Left Coast for a fancy meal.

Came here with my husband for a Saturday night date. I’m so frustrated we chose this place over ALL the other places we could have eaten, We had a reservation for 7:00, got there and seated by 6:50. From the moment we walked in, the hostess clearly didn’t know what was going on. The whole wait staff was unfriendly & unwelcoming. Took 15 minutes for someone to notice we where there and take our drink order. Sat there for 50 minutes, no bread no nothing. I asked if we could at least have some bread because I was starving (we go out to eat because we’re hungry right?) server tells us bread is being made (didn’t get any bread the entire time) 50 minutes after we sat down I get my salad. It’s a miserable excuse for a salad. My husbands entree and appetizer came out, octopus was undercooked, petrolesol was a ridiculously small cut. My chicken came out and it wasn’t at all described, the sauce was weird and the cuts where awkward.
I told the server we didn’t like the food and we where upset at waiting so long. She speaks to the manager and he takes ONE glass of wine off our $103 tab, a complete slap in the face. Not only do I not recommend this place but we really miss crush. If I could post this without a star I would.
