My brother and I hired Thelma Jeans to cater our mother’s surprise 70th birthday party. We worked with Romaine to put together the menu. She made helpful recommendations to offer our guests a great experience, while accommodating our budget. The charter boat that we booked to host our mother’s affair had numerous stipulations and our party size kept growing as we approached the date of our event. These factors caused us to make several changes to our order. Romaine was very accommodating each time and was extremely pleasant to work with. Our guests were very pleased with all of the menu options and raved about the sweet potatoes all night. I definitely plan to use Thelma Jeans again and would recommend them to anyone looking for delicious southern style cooking and great customer service.

We wanted a meal that my late sister would like for her funeral repast. We weren’t sure how many people would stay for repast but Romaine worked with us every step of the way. She offered suggestions based on her experience and helped us get the most for our budget. She was great and so was outcome: We got so many compliments on everything ‐ catfish, Swai, sweet potatoes, string beans, collars and cornbread muffins. Exactly the meal my sister loved! It was delivered on time, hot & ready. Romaine brought some joy to a difficult day. We will always be grateful.

I have one major complaint, I got full before I could try the green beans and the peach cobbler. Other than that, I think I finally found a soul food spot that reminds me of St.Louis. We always preferred the spots that didn’t have huge remodeling budgets because they had the best food. This is one of those places. Thanks for the great food, I’ll definitely be driving all the way across town whenever I want some real southern style cooking.

My boyfriend and I stopped here on our way back to CT. We found it on Yelp. The food was delicious! And the service was great. I had beef ribs with collard greens and mac and cheese. The ribs were so tender. The greens were good, and so was the mac and cheese. Thank you for a very pleasant dinner!!!
