Stopped by to try this place out with a friend, thought the food was just ok but pretty fun to wrap your own roll and they keep the seaweed dry by putting a plastic wrapper around and adding the fish on the top. A bit on the pricey though even with the lunch special. Good to try it once but probably won’t be coming back. Not really that impressed with the food. Friendly staff and convenient location. Pretty empty when i was there on a weekday/Friday afternoon.

We came in here starving! Left so so satisfied. We saw the pictures on google and when we walked in we were stunned by the ambiance. My girl and I each got the lunch special. 5 rolls and udon for $28. My little brother got a crab roll and spicy tuna for $23. The waitress was so sweet and attentive. I felt like family. The chef was also professional. He was charming and perfectly times the next set of food. My favorite roll was the yellowtail, which is crazy because I typically can do without. But wow. My girlfriend’s favorite was the spicy tuna. My brother loved the blue crab. We were ooing and aahing at everything. There was a nice ratio of meat and rice for each roll. It was actually very filling and we felt like we may have overdid it with 5 handrolls. But the flavors were so good, we stuffed ourselves. The flavors were all so different and the fish was fresh. The udon made me almost shed a tear LOL. It was very cozy and savory. We also had some miso soup which was flavorful. Also shout out to the ginger and the soy sauce. Someone sold their soul for the soy sauce.
My brother lives in NY and said he will be back with friends and our mom. And whenever I make a trip down I will make an effort to be back. Thank you all very much for a great first time visit!

I went for the Assorted Handroll Set, and it’s everything you’d want: warm seasoned rice, freshly toasted seaweed, and top-grade fish that melts in your mouth. Each roll feels effortless yet intentional — a perfect balance of texture and temperature. Also love the beef undo! So delish!

The hand rolls were super fresh with great flavor. However, note they are quite small so would suggest going with at least the 5+ piece sets for dinner along with a couple of appetizers. The potato croquette was super crunchy and delicious as well!

After a long day of shopping in Midtown, I was starving and craving handrolls. A quick Google search led me to Handroll Bar Rolling, and I’m so glad it did!
We started with edamame—hot, nicely salted, and super satisfying. Then we tried their fried Purple Okinawa Sweet Potato, which was light and crispy with a mayo dip that wasn’t too heavy. It was a great little appetizer. The Chicken Karaage was another winner, perfectly fried and super crunchy, and the shrimp tempura was light and paired with a tasty aioli.
Since they’re famous for their handrolls, we had to try them. We ordered the Signature 6 Handroll Set (Tuna, Salmon, Yellowtail, Scallop, Crab, and Crunch Spicy Tuna) and the 5 Vegan Set (Cucumber, Avocado, Soybean Beef, Burdock, and Mushroom). Everything was fresh and rolled to order, with crispy nori and flavorful fillings. The highlight for me was the fried Ebi Potato—crispy, light, and packed with flavor.
We also tried the udon soup noodles. I had the Beef Udon, and the noodles had the perfect chewy texture. My mom got the Shrimp Tempura Udon, and I really appreciated that they served the tempura on the side so it stayed crispy instead of getting soggy in the broth.
We sat at a table instead of the counter, which made it easier for my family to share everything. The service was attentive and friendly without being over the top.
For drinks, we tried the Yuzu Highball, which had just enough alcohol to give me a buzz. So refreshing!
Overall, this place is a gem. The food is delicious, the service is great, and the vibe is casual but still feels special. If you’re in Midtown and looking for a good dinner spot, definitely check it out!

Excellent Handroll spot located in the heart of NYC! The service was great and the handroll options were great as well.
You can have regular table service or sit at the counter/bar and watch the action up close. They also craft the handroll in a way where the wrapping doesn’t get soggy which helps when you order several handroll as once!
