We had to ask our server for drink refills , she was paying attention to regulars more then other people, we had to ask for silverware. Tacos were good just wished we had more meat since they were beef tacos not lettuce tacos

I grew up in the 70’s eating the original Lord John’s Tacos served from a mobile home type trailer building on Markland Ave. When I found out the defunct eateries tacos are available at The Handle Bar, I was ecstatic and drove to Kokomo to take a friend. The Handle Bar nails the original. I will be back.

Went in on Wednesday night 3/22/23 to have some drinks and the bar tender was talking on her phone when we walked in and said I will be right with you and kept on talking on her phone about her everyday business never once took are order. waited 15 min and finally just said forget it and left. Not to mention me and my wife were the only two customers that were there. So I can see now why the place is dead.

It’s my first time ordering from there and it will be my last time it was so dry and cold and non-flavored that $30 went straight to the trash. I’m very very unhappy. It tasted like they threw it into the microwave to heat it back up cus its been sitting for a long time.

Tacos are worth a try. Handmade deep fried shells will fill you up quick. Needed more meat per taco though. The taco filling was quite tasteless and required salt and hot sauce. Hot sauce on the table tasted like Frank’s buffalo. Appetizer menu is great and they fried them perfectly.
