Experience the grill at Hana Japan Steak & Seafood. Hana Japan (hana: “flower”) specializes in a style of Japanese cuisine: teppanyaki (teppan: “metal grill”, yaki “to grill”). Our teppanyaki grills are used to cook in front of our guests for a memorable dining experience. Our mission is to create meaningful memories by cooking fresh meals for you at your table, sharing in laughter and connection. In 1979, Chef Yoon opened our first location and restaurant, a place for families to gather and where children love to eat. We are now proudly serving two locations in the Bay Area: Berkeley, California and Dublin, California.

The food is delicious, and the staff is amazing, HOWEVER, you should know about the lovely bartender Elena: She makes her own sour mixes from scratch, and crafts a Tito’s gimlet that is simply out of this world. Just spectacular. A delightful surprise, indeed. Endorsed!

I met some old friends here recently and we had an amazing time! The woman who was fulfilling the host role(I regrettably do not remember her name but she was a beautiful lady with a radiant smile. I *think* she is the owner, but I’m not certain. It was hard to hear!) was so kind and gracious, and our chef made things fun and exciting but we still felt we could catch up with each other during the meal. Our food was cooked precisely to order and was so tasty I’ve been dreaming about it since. The portions were huge – enough that I stuffed myself there and still had plenty for lunch the next day.

The waitress who started us off, and our chef were awesome! He was super entertaining and smiling while he cooked everything (which was also fun to watch) ! The food was yummy and the alcohol was strong hahaha. The lighting was lower and decor was pretty!

What an awesome place. It was a bit of a wait. Our reservation was for 7 and no one came to the table to cook till 745. But… the staff apologized for the wait and they were nice. The cooks were great, the food was delicious. I ordered lobster and shrimp! Delicious. They had a lot of fun drinks too. The place seems a little outdated but there is lots of parking and maybe another location in Berkeley closer to me. I will be super excited to go back for the birthday deal! Oh and the wings were delicious!

Our second time visiting. Loved the show that our chef put on for us. Blew what Benihana had to offer out of the water. The food was good overall. Their ability to handle all the food allergies or intolerances in our group of ten was absolutely outstanding! We so appreciated all the extra time and care put into preparing our food. No one ended up in the ER or with follow up stomach issues which is a near miracle when dealing with issues in the group spanning diabetes, Celiac’s Disease, tree nuts, shrimp, eggs, and onion allergies all at one table. Kudos to all for a job well done! We aren’t locals, but will certainly be back when we’re visiting in the area again. To those who had issues with service, aside from a couple overlooked drinks that were promptly delivered when we brought it to their attention, we didn’t experience this issue at all.

Hana was exactly like benehana. About 10 seats around a hot grill with chef show while cooking. Beef,chicken,shrimp,and lobster, with steam or fried rice. You can order appetizers drinks and fish as well. They don’t take reservations so are party of 30 people all had to be there to get seated. Had wonderful ❤️ time

As far as dinner goes, the food wasn’t terrible. But what bothered me was we went with our three year old who doesn’t eat that much and they made me order a meal for him. So we had to spend extra money for no reason. The waitress told me he has to order something. We went there because my husband and I wanted it. If you’re telling me, we need to order a meal because he is occupying a chair then say that and I would’ve had him sit in my lap because that is absolutely ridiculous.
