I was recommended Han Chao by a friend and I am really glad I gave it a try. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with great hospitality, and the food quality was even better than expected. Everything tastes fresh, well prepared, and full of flavor. I have been coming back often because the service is consistently great and the food never disappoints. Today they even surprised me with extra spring rolls and extra vermicelli, which honestly made my day. You can tell they care about their customers. I am loving this place and will definitely keep coming back.

We placed a large take-out order, and everything was perfect from start to finish. The staff made sure the entire order was accurate and ready on time. All the food was fresh, hot, and packaged really well, nothing spilled over or got mixed up during transport. The chicken balls were a fan favourite amongst the kids and the salt and pepper seafood was a spicy delight for the adults. All 15 of us devoured the chicken fried rice, sweet and sour pork, chicken chow main, and ginger beef! Everything was so delicious!
We really appreciated the attention to detail and the excellent customer service. We’ll definitely be ordering from here again, especially for big gatherings. Highly recommended!

There seemed to be some confusion at Han Chao about what beef fried rice is – see attached picture of what I expected. Instead, I was served what looked like boiled rice with beef in it, and it tasted very bland, even though I ordered “medium spicy”.
I was quite astounded to see the manager’s reaction, ranting on about how she should be hit by a car or the sky should fall on her if the beef fried rice had not been done right. And, by the way, the second serving of the “beef fried rice” was just the same bland boiled effort as the first. Giving me a 30% discount for the rice was not the right solution. You should have removed it from the bill instead of charging me for it.
As far as the other menu item I had, the wor won ton soup, it was great. No problem there.
For the disappointing rice, I gave one star each for food, service (manager’s attitude), and atmosphere. For the wor won ton soup, and the waiter, I would have given five stars each for food, service, and atmosphere.
This place rates a “fail” and I suggest the manager learn some customer service skills.
That was my third visit there and was hoping to become a regular since it is close to where I live. The menu items I had on previous visits were very good, for reasonable prices. I liked the place up until this disgraceful behaviour from the manager. No more visits now.
I cannot recommend this place to others due to this event.

Follow up to Manager Jane’s reply: I can assure you I was not full. I was ready to finish off the rice, next. Even if I was full, I was looking forward to the rice and would have happily taken the leftovers home in a ‘doggy bag’, as I have often done at many other restaurants. But the rice definitely was neither appetizing or tasty.
Jane, I think you are your own worst enemy with your poor interpersonal skills, your nutty babbling about getting hit by a car outside, your customer service clumsiness, and your anger management challenges. May I respectfully suggest you invest in the services of a professional personal growth counsellor to help you better get through your days.
I think, next, I will share my concerns about you with the Better Business Bureau, Yelp, etc..
Jane, I am not your enemy. I wanted to be a regular guest there. I wish you all the best with making this incident a learning experience for you.

Excellent food! We ordered dinner for 4 and everything was cooked perfect, placed an order for chicken fried rice, sweet and sour sauce with chicken balls, ginger beef, beef and broccoli and chicken chow mein, and not too salty or over cooked. Thank you.

Excellent Singapore fried noodle, best I have had in 10 years. Perfect crispy ginger beef. The fried rice with fresh veggies was a delight. Fast takeout ready in 15 minutes, and Asian type of food in the area.

This is a lovely quiet restaurant with amazing food. Everything I’ve tried from here has been delicious and everyone who works there is so kind and welcoming. I definitely recommend everyone to come try it out.

Ordered dinner for 1 for lunch, and it was just ok. Had fried rice with ginger beef and S&S pork. I’ve had better Western Chinese food elsewhere. I ended up not eating most of the S&S pork, had 2 bites, wasn’t good imo, too much on the sour side. The ginger beef tasted better. They did give big chunks of chicken in the fried rice. I would actually give 2.5 stars.

Stopped in for lunch, had pho with springrolls, very good compared to many other vietnamese restaurants across the city.
Servers were attentive and present. Food came to the table after ordering in a timely manner, and cooked perfectly. Spring rolls were hot and crunchy, and the noodle soup was steaming.
Dining area and Bathroom were fairly clean.
Price point was competative.
Will be back to try out their other asian regional cuisines!
