We are visiting St. Louis and my 17 year-old son loves live music. He’s going to start college in the fall studying jazz performance so I always look for restaurants with life music. I found this restaurant by searching Google and it got really good reviews so we thought we would try it out. It’s in a very old neighborhood in St. Louis, but when we entered it, it was a lively and very welcoming dive bar type atmosphere. It’s very small, there’s booths on the right and a bar on the left with some tables in the middle. There were many people inside, and they were all happy and singing and welcoming as one of the live performers had just finished his set. We ordered drinks, appetizers and dinner. It was myself, the hubby and our 2 teenagers. At 8 PM a second performer took the stage and we enjoyed listening to him for the next hour. It wasn’t the jazz, but it was still very enjoyable . A saxophonist and then a harmonica, joined him on stage. The service was excellent, the staff very friendly. My only complaint is that the booths are all wood and I must say all four of us were complaining about how our asses hurt from sitting on wood benches for almost 2 hours. The food was OK, I gave it four stars. I would definitely go there again if we lived around here. We all enjoyed it very much.

I was disappointed today. I have been a loyal customer for years and always please with the service and the food, but today I was left shocked and disappointed. 1st I had to wait on my drinks (not that I mind waiting) but when tge bartender is just standing there chatting it up with his(I guess) friends. It was unsettling. When she finally brought my drink she spilled a large portion of it on the table( again not that I mind accidentschappen) but she walked away leaving me to clean up the mess. I placed my order, that was clearly stated on the menu. She came back and told me they were out of pork steak. I settled for what my wife ordered. And the steak was good, but they laid it on a stack of what is obviously prepacked frozen French fries. It saddens me but it looks like MOLLY’S is getting my business from now on. I dont know if they had a change of ownership. But the staff was new.

I moved to Soulard about a year ago. This has become one of my favorite spots. Reasonable drinks, great music, Kyla and Lisa the bartenders are absolute DOLLS and Denny, the owner is a true gentleman. Friendly and welcoming and truly appreciative of his patrons. A true gem of Soulard.

Warm & friendly local joint with great food & stellar service. Lisa is a consummate bartender, anticipating needs & checking in just enough. Food is a balance between approachable & elevated and very tasty. Weekend $4 mimosa was in a wine goblet, not flute, great deal! Staff managed groups of every size, cozy atmosphere and good vibes all around. Highly recommend.

Really enjoyed the Sunday breakfast special, bread pudding French toast. Would recommend to anyone going here on a Sunday for breakfast. Great service and good coffee here too. Nice outdoor patio to hang out on too. Nashville Chicken sandwich for dinner is a bit weak though, but was tasty.

Lovely tasty meal and service was great too even if they seemed a little puzzled at my polite English nature. And they felt like the sort of place that plays both types of music – country and western.

Was amused that the fish and chips proved to be fish and crisps we in the UK would put it

Still this was super cheap and super nice.. Loved it!

My wife and I went there for lunch one afternoon. She had been there before and enjoyed the food. She spoke of the huge onion rings that were a specialty.

She did not exaggerate. The rings were huge and we both were given five or six of them. Our entrees were delicious. She had a Reuben Sandwich. My meal was 1lb barbecue pork steak with pasta salad.

In addition to the good food, out waitress was first rate. The atmosphere reminded me of a small bar. All of this helped to make eating here an enjoyable experience.
