A pretty good burger with no frills. And by no frills I mean no bacon after 10 something in the AM, no French fries and what felt like no AC. Cash only so expect a $3 ATM fee if you brought a Visa. No fountain drinks, so no refills, no ice, and you get a snack sized bag of chips. I guess what I’m saying is the food is good but it feels like taking a good burger and stripping any other good parts of the lunch experience. I would recommend it if you’re close by and looking for a burger. It’s cheaper than it’s direct competition.

Hamburger King – A True Hidden Gem!

This place is absolutely awesome! If you’re craving a real, no-frills, juicy burger grilled to perfection, look no further. Hamburger King knows exactly what they’re doing—the patties are thick, flavorful, and cooked just right every time.

Don’t come expecting fries, because this isn’t fast food. This is a classic burger joint that focuses on quality over quantity. But if you’re in a hurry, just call ahead, and they’ll have it ready for you.

The atmosphere has that nostalgic, old-school charm that makes it feel like a true local treasure. From the hand-painted murals to the sizzling grill right behind the counter, you know you’re getting a burger made with care.

If you appreciate a great burger done right, Hamburger King is the place to be. Highly recommended!

TLDR: This place is great; I highly recommend the burger.

My pastor is taking me on a journey through Montgomery restaurants, and he said this was the best burger in Montgomery. I was skeptical because when I looked online, the pictures were just of a thick burger with nothing special. Normally, I go for a Smashburger or something with a few more toppings.

I was wrong. It was the best burger that I’ve had since coming to Montgomery. I got it dressed all the way without mustard. The ladies working at the counter were wonderful and not surprising. This place is cash only. When you look to your left, walking in, you see nothing but a person smashing patties. The two flat tops are filled because they know they will sell out. After all, that burger is amazing. If I could travel back in time and tell myself before I bought any other Burger in Montgomery about the experience of my first bite at the Hamburger King, I would. I would have forcefully taken him there if past me would not listen.

The atmosphere is as if you walked into a 1970s burger joint, except it is way rustier, and that is okay because the food is amazing. I could ignore the awful smell from the bathroom as I sat next to the table and enjoyed the burger because it was delicious.

The prices on the board behind the counter include tax, and I appreciate that because I don’t have to worry about anything hidden here. This place is straightforward. Burger patty get it all the way. Maybe make some adjustments, and it’s about $10 for a full meal.

This is one of my top five restaurants in Montgomery.

This is by far the BEST BURGER you will eat in Alabama. Very nice hole in the wall kinda place. Family operated, and they have been making the best hamburgers for years

I liked the atmosphere of the old dinner. But i don’t think the burger was as good as everyone says. Comparing to J & J Grocery burger in McCala, Al, this burger simply can’t keep up. The bun wasn’t that good, the meat needed to be salted and peppered more.

Good burger but would not come here again. Management is not so good, awaited almost an hour for a simple cheese burger to go because of limited seating. How ones eat at such slow place for a lunch break likely extremely difficult because they have no system by name or number, just whisper of what ones ordered. A bad way to manage when others has same order. Nope. tried it, but will not be back.

First, the cheesburger was excellent and made to order nice and hot when ya get it. The mixture of condiments and vegetable made for one delicious burger, with chips and a Coke. It’s a small shop, with plenty of business especially takeout orders. Gotta get back and try the hotdogs at some point. On Decatur St, which is one-way as I was promptly reminded as I started to leave going the wrong direction.

Absolute best Deluxe Cheeseburger. Great place, great service & clearly popular with locals. Alabama’s version of Louis’ Lunch.

Good Burgers. Very filling. They use large buns so all the toppings fit just right on the burger. The burger meat is delicious and you can taste the flavors from the grill. I wasn’t even all that hungry when I showed up but that burger hit the spot. Scarfed down every last bite. Great all American burger.
