First time visit, and we tried the pretzel bites for appetizer. They were ok, we finished them. I ordered a bacon cheeseburger with house chips. My burger was deliciously tender! It was perfect for me, I added nothing! My house fries were a little overcooked for me. My husband had the steak and shrimp stir fry and enjoyed it. He’s a big meat eater, and commented that there was a lot of meat. We would visit again.

I usually love our trips to Halftime. Today however, I think maybe that we’re having a bad day. Everything we ordered as a party of 4 was not enjoyable. Our server was doing the best they could and I feel if she had adequate support service would have been better, although that does not count for the subpar quality of food that we received from the kitchen. I don’t typically leave bad reviews but today was not a good experience. It will be a long time before we return if ever.

We don’t have cable so we go to Half Time whenever there’s a football game on that we want to see. Loads of TVs and lots of games on! We’ve never had a problem finding a table or spot at the bar. (Only waited once for a 4:00 game when some 1:00 games ran over but it cleared out quickly.) We like the atmosphere and food, I love the boneless wings (my husband likes everything he’s had), and the staff is great. Thank you!

DO NOT ORDER THE STEAK. I overlooked the bad reviews on the steak myself and gave it a chance but it made me sick before I even left the restaurant! My fiance ordered the same with a salad and the salad came with rotten lettuce!
Service was nice and hospitable but beware of the food for this place and the restaurant next door vine since both places share one kitchen and it clearly doesn’t get cleaned properly!

The three-star rating reflects solely the positive aspects of our recent visit: attentive service and a pleasant atmosphere. However, the “hot hamburger plate” fell short of expectations. The fries required significant enhancement to be palatable, and the medium-cooked burger lacked desirable flavor. Given the establishment’s pricing, improvements to the fries and the quality of the hamburger meat are strongly recommended.

We have been going to Half Time for years on Tuesday nights with a large group for their boneless wings. As of recently, apparently they have either changed cooks or supplies as the boneless wings have in my opinion and our groups’; have deteriorated. They now are more like frozen patties with an overbearing bread crumb coating and the Asian Bourbon sauce is not the same. The originals were more like tender chicken strips. They are still tasty, but nowhere near what the original ones were. Now with the change, we will no longer be going. We were able to tolerate the overbearing loud drunk crowd that accumulates around 5:00 p.m. with their yelling and shouting to enjoy the delicious boneless wings. But without the former great wings, we will avoid Half Time now because of the crowd. All the food has always been excellent, but we did go specifically for the boneless wings. If they reverted to their former recipe for the wings at a higher price, we would return. I would have attached photos but the system would not permit me to do so.

Easily the best restaurant in New Bern, NC. We were on vacation and dined all over but kept coming back to this one. The adults and the children weee very happy with everything cooked to perfection. Simple yet sooo satisfying. I recommend the French dip – I had it twice!

I ordered the cowboy burger well done and it was still pink and the Texas toast was very burnt. I had the steamed broccoli for the side and it was flavorless and cold. The server never came to ask if I wanted another drink. My daughter’s brisket burger was ok but her sweet potato fries were burnt. The music was great!

This place is bigger than it looks. Multiple TVs with different sports channels on. Several options for burger. I had the jalapeño pepper jack version which was delicious. My other half ordered the meatball sub which was decent.
