With cozy seating and a humble atmosphere, I expected a lot from this local place. Unfortunately, my whole family seemed to agree that it was a “mid” breakfast. Everything tasted and was presented cheap, but the price was anything but. They also had the restroom blocked off during our visit, which was understandable, but still an inconvenience. Overall, it seemed like a special place, but it wasn’t. 3/5.

This is a quick diner eating experience. Even though the name gives you the illusion that they will have good coffee, they don’t. We got two different lattes and they tasted like drip coffee with milk in, not true lattes. They have a lot of different flavored drip coffees and weekly schedule so they take that very seriously. I got the veggie omelette which was ok. The veggies were fresh and well made but overall the food is bland. My husband got the eggs Benedict and it was way too much sauce and the sauce was not good at all. We also got the “double chocolate cheesecake” which was not even cheesecake, just a very big piece of dense chocolate cake. Overall would not come back.

It’s an okay spot. Good if you just need something decent to eat. The portions are big but not as flavorful as it looks. Staff is nice but food to a while to come out. Wouldn’t really come back unless I’m driving through and need “quick” decent food.

The food here is awesome!! We came for our first time and we love it, will definitely be back. All the avocado toasts look amazing, and the hollandaise one was great. It was so much food though, one whole avocado toast was honestly too much for me! Well worth the price. We didn’t get a coffee today, but when we do I will update. We will definitely be back soon as we are in half moon bay every other weekend! If you’re looking for a cute place though, this isn’t super aesthetic, but the food is great and the mini pies look so good.

A perfect cafe bakery coffee shop combination. Nothing too fancy, very down to earth, atmosphere feels like the food court at the mall. If you don’t feel like taking the time to explore Half Moon Bay’s boutique cafes, which are excellent and upscale, this is your quick working class answer. Best place for a quick stop off the side of the highway if you’re traveling through.

Half Moon Bay Coffee Co. is such a nice little stop when you’re by the coast! The atmosphere is warm and relaxed — the kind of place where you can sit with your coffee, enjoy the ocean air, and unwind for a bit. It’s casual, comfortable, and has that small-town charm that fits perfectly with Half Moon Bay.
The coffee is solid — smooth, rich, and always hot. Their pastries and breakfast items are tasty too, especially if you want something quick before exploring the area. Service is friendly and easygoing, even when it’s busy on weekends.
It’s not super fancy or upscale, but that’s part of what makes it great — it feels local and genuine. A perfect stop for a morning pick-me-up or an afternoon coffee break while enjoying the beach town vibe.

I’m always impressed with Half Moon Bay Coffee Company… I’ve come here many times over the years. It maintains the high quality of food, service, and atmosphere that made me come back the first time. Portions are large and delicious; the service is quick (counter order w/table delivery) and the restaurant is spacious. Coffee purchased “for here” is refillable. A great place to chill!

Wow. Visiting from Nebraska and decided to come in for coffee and breakfast. Great cup of coffee. Rich and aromatic. Not too acidic or harsh. Now for the breakfast….. smoked salmon avocado toast. I normally make avocado toast at home. Avocado spread on toast, maybe a poached egg, bacon. This? It Had a cream cheese spread with avocado. This gave it such a creamy luxurious texture. Then it had some amazing smoked salmon and these little crispy (fried!?!?) capers on it. And if that wasn’t great enough, there were fresh cucumbers and red onion that had been tossed in lime juice and oil!! At least that’s what I believe it was. Either way it was the perfect amount of acidity to cut through the creamy richness of the avocado and cream cheese. All served on top of a chewy toasted sour dough bread. Oh and let us not forget the charred Lemon slice on top. And this all created, in my humble opinion, the best breakfast I have had in California. I will be taking this combo of flavors and textures back to Nebraska and trying my darnedest to recreate it at home. I know it won’t be the same. So I suppose I’ll have to visit again. 🙂

Nice place for having breakfast or brunch. Many choices of dishes. It also has pastries. Food is ok. We order Mediterranean avocado toast and chicken fried steak. I like the chicken fried steak. Gravy is good. Wish the hash brown a bit crisper. You order and paid first at cashier.
One suggestion is to use number for eat in order instead of shouting customer name when food is ready. It is not easy also to spell name. For example my name is entered incorrectly when ordering.
