The place is your typical box restaurant in a shopping strip but the store was fairly clean and roomy. There were eleven tables that could seat four comfortably. Cushioned chairs made it comfortable to sit. Men’s Restroom was clean. That’s important as I see the state of the bathroom as the state in which they care for the rest of the establishment.
Now the food: Combination Plate – Gyro Over Rice. As reflected on the photos. I was impressed at how much they gave me. The tray was loaded! The moisture of the rice, gyro, and chicken were moist and tender. Perfect! it wasn’t dry or over cooked. Just right! The vegetables were also fresh – not over ripe or soft. Just right! I also received an extra cup of creamy sauce and a side of hot sauce for those who like it spicy which I do.
To summarize my experience: I’ll definitely be back for more Halal here! It’s a great place. Affordable and the quality is very good
They sent me a mini wrap, the quality wasn’t good, and it was mostly lettuce and vegetables with barely any other ingredients.
I’ve ordered from this place before, and I don’t know if they changed the portion sizes and quality but kept the same prices.
Honestly, I don’t recommend it and I wouldn’t order from them again. Such a disappointment.
Lamb Shawarma Over Rice- Heavily spiced tender slices of lamb. Rice and tahini sauce complemented the bold lamb flavor.
Chicken Tikka Masala- Savory sauce with a slightly spicy kick, just enough for flavor but not set your mouth on fire. Chicken roasted perfectly, some smaller bits intermingled into the sauce with a few larger juicy bites of white meat. Came with two pieces of naan, super fluffy with a crisp charred exterior, lightly salted. The ideal naan texture to pair with the tikka masala sauce.
You get a real bang for your buck here. Delicious food served in a no frills restaurant. Fairly large portions for the price. Looked like most people order to go instead of dining in. Quick service.
The pita on the wrap is a bit thick and makes biting it difficult but a problem easily solved with a fork. The chicken shawarma was a nice colour and texture but perhaps a bit chicken stock tasting.
The lamb shawarma platter was a bit small given the price. The flavour was very good with just enough spice heat its perhaps slightly over coated in spice.
My favourite was the falafel but they don’t make them in house
