I ate at Halal Cart University this morning and ordered the chicken platter, and it was absolutely worth it. The chicken was fresh, juicy, and perfectly seasoned, and the rice was flavorful, not dry like many other halal carts near campus.

Absolutely amazing food! The chicken and lamb over rice here are always fresh, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. The portions are huge for the price, and the white sauce is unbeatable. I was driving past and couldn’t help but notice a group of people standing outside in -12 degree weather just to get a meal here. I figured if people are willing to brave that kind of cold, the food must be special and I was RIGHT. And its absolutely WORTH of waiting.
I grabbed the combo rice and it was exactly what I needed. It was piping hot and hit the spot perfectly in this weather. What really blew me away, though, was the service. Despite the crowd and the freezing snow, I had my food in less than 5 minutes. The staff is incredibly honest and they go out of their way to make sure everyone is taken care of.
It’s rare to find a place that matches great food with such genuine, 100/100 customer service. Definitely swing by if you’re in the area!

Okay, the halal cart on campus is officially the GOAT. Grabbed a chicken and lamb combo this morning and they had it ready in like 2 minutes flat. They even hooked me up with extra tomatoes on the salad when I asked. Super fresh, super fast, and actually tastes amazing. New favorite spot for sure.

Food was hot, loaded, and packed with flavor, and they were super nice while serving too. Fresh, filling, and totally hit the spot in the cold. This is easily a go to cart.

It’s not the highest quality nor is it the nicest parking lot, but at the end of the day it’s cheap, it’s quick and it’s satisfying and as a broke college student I approve. (And went two nights in a row) Pictured is the combo w/Chicken & Lamb over rice and white sauce. $9 though for $1 more I got a round of pita bread which was worth it. Taxes were included no waiting around for change and my order was given to me within 30 seconds

I was driving by and saw a couple of people in line at this truck. Checked reviews and seemed like a good chance to take so I pulled in the lot to try. NOPE! Gyro disgusting. Photo of lamb gyro on truck shows sliced gyro meat. I received some type of bland ground meat that had burnt grilled pieces of meat in it, a watery white sauce, lettuce, diced onions and diced bell peppers. No tomatoes, no real tzatziki.
Also they are a cash only business. If you pay with credit card have to order thru a food service like grubhub or uber eats.

The best halal cart near university hands down. The food is great The taste is spectacular and the workers are kind. They are all super nice there as long as your nice too. I really wouldn’t go to any other cart either because their prices are much better, it does all depend on personal taste but these guys know how to cook and again its cheap! Every meal is 10 bucks how can you beat that? God strike me down if im lying.

Got the lamb over rice. It’s good enough, not bad by any means. Great prices but I’d happily pay a little more for chunks of lamb rather than donner slices, but I’d still go again. Convenient location for UNC students/staff. Very friendly and helpful staff.
