This was our first time having African food such as this. We haven’t ate enough authentic African food to have a strong enough opinion about what we had to be honest, which was chicken rice jallof and fried yam and turkey tail. We appreciated that it was something different than the typical chicken and french fries American cuisine. We do feel that the prices were a tad expensive. They do give big portion sizes, however. 1 plate can easily feed 2 people.

The jollof rice with chicken is so good!!! The portions are huge.
I also recommend the puff patties. They taste like delicious fried doughnuts.
So glad to have great African food in Pittsburgh

WORST African food I have ever had! We ordered 30 minutes prior to arrival. The gentleman said it would be ready in 25 minutes. We arrived 32 minutes later and was told it would be 10 more minutes…. 38 minutes later and we got our food! We drove 2 HOURS & paid $123.51 for 4 egusi & fufu meals and 3 jollof rice & chicken meals. ALL the rice was disgusting and the chicken was dry and bland! It tasted old & burnt. The egusi & fufu was a dub as well which i was extremely disappointed about.. We drove 2 hours back home to open our containers to find out there was barely anything in the bowl. We had to combine 2 bowls to make 1/2 of 1 bowl. The fufu was too wet and to pasty to even eat! I am sooo disappointed in this restaurant and will drive an extra 30 minutes to another african restaurant we frequent atleast once a week.

Probably the best west African food in Pittsburgh, also good enough to compete with other cities (unlike other places I won’t name in the Pittsburgh area). Not pictured: the sobolo / hibiscus / Jamaican sorrel drink. Tons of ginger, so delightful. I went pretty simple this time to establish a baseline, and I’m definitely leaving happy.

Absolutely amazing food. Took my family over here on a Saturday morning and I was very impressed with the responsiveness and service quality the owners provided. A very welcoming place for groups with lots of seating and the food is just authentic and top notch.
The owners are from Ghana so you can expect the cuisine to be more West African and specifically from Ghana. This is now my go to spot when I miss home!

I’m sorry but this was some of the worst african/ghanian food I’ve ever had. Overpriced and they added 2 dollars extra to every item we ordered PLUS food tax. The jollof rice was clearly old, the egusi was flavorless and had bones in it, the pounded yam had a strange odor to it AND they gave very small portions of lamb. The service was the only thing good about this experience. If you want flavor and honest food prices, go somewhere else!!

We ordered the tuo zaafi with ayoyo and stew, and were absolutely enamored by the incredible flavors, portion size, and overall menu variety. We appreciate the fact that everything is zabibah halal, and taste as fresh as ever. Will definitely be back to order again, and try more items off the menu.
side note: I loved our meal so much, i’m trying to learn how to make it, right as we speak 😀

I am one who absolutely loves food. I will travel mountains high and low valleys to try anything. I never had African food but upon finding out there was a restaurant near me I was so ecstatic. I decided to give them a try. My first experience I didn’t post. I ordered Egushi and yam and added fried turkey tails. The only thing that was very good was the turkey tails The rest of the meal was bland and not seasoned. The other day, I decided to give them another chance. That day, my food was worse. I got 1/4 of a bowl filled and 3 pieces of unknown meat with a large layer of grease on top. This time I went in the store to pick up my order I instantly got nervous because I have never walked inside of a restaurant and not smell not 1 ounce of food cooking I instantly thought they must make their food in advance and then reheat it because there is no way there was no evidence a restaurant existed in there I really wanted to love this place because once I find something great I would have been the number one customer, but what I paid for for that little bit of food was ridiculous and won’t be back.
