Warm hospitality, but food needs improvement
Tried Haji Indian Pakistani Restaurant and was welcomed by one of the kindest and friendliest hosts — he truly made us feel at home and is such a nice person. Unfortunately, the food itself wasn’t anything special. The vegetables tasted a bit off, and the forks were very small, more like fruit forks, which made eating a bit uncomfortable.

That said, I genuinely wish the restaurant success and hope they take this feedback to heart — I might go back again, not for the food, but to support their business and their wonderful hospitality.

I just got the biryani (overpriced), lesser quantity and a lot of tanginess in it. This is not at all authentic biryani.

I tried their Tea as well, that’s also disappointing. Won’t even recommend anyone, unless I get a better experience next time and I’m not spending anything here anymore

Probably the guy from Lahore, who doesn’t even know what Biryani tastes like.

Ruined my experience and money.

Really solid food. Great flavors, we had the Tikka Masala and the Pakistani beef dish. The naan was generous, we only wish the meat dishes had just a bit more meat to feel generous. That’s a good thing that we wanted more. Definitely a solid place.

Food was very authentic and yummy. The shammi Kabab was exceptional. The biryani was fresh tasting ( Sindhi biryani, not Hyderabad you see everywhere else). The korma was also authentic

They are very warm and sweet. We stopped by to have to go chai. They just gave us free and took pain to make it fresh. Wasn’t expecting but need to go back to try the food out. Very clean place.

I had a chicken tikka masala with naan here. Both were delicious and staffs are very friendly. Looking forward to ordering again!

Normally if you’d go to a Pakistani restaurant in Bay Area, you will find northern/ Punjabi style Pakistani cuisine or American/ Paki or Indian/ Paki fusion.

This one is different!!!

I am Punjabi who is born and raised in Karachi, so I have tasted the both. I can clearly tell, this is one of the rarest out of many that carries authentic Karachi flavor, heritage and culture. The few Crown Jewels of Pakistan such as Biryani, Nihari and Qorma traveled from Karachi to the other corners. So Imagine eating at a restaurant not with just great taste, but a pedigree behind it.

Keep in mind that the spice level is mild and not hot like a real Karachiate would like, but that’s by design to cater the diverse Silicon Valley’s crowd. And if you really like the Karachi level spice then just let the owner (Adnan) or server know.

Last but not least, they are the only one who put the legendary Aalu in their Biryani. So all Hydro folks refund or Baigan ki baatan nakko because no aalu, no biryani 😉

This spot is amazing! The prices are affordable, and the food is out of this world! The nihari is so good, and the chai is the best.
