My movie crew loved it. The staff were so great, the restaurant was cool and clean.
The food was good! Well seasoned, a large portion and an amazing price.
I’m going to have to go every time I go to Tara theater.

The service was fantastic – my server was so nice and answered questions. The food presentation was beautiful as my pictures show – I was very excited to try this out. The ramen was really, not great! I got the seafood ramen, extra spicy. It was quite spicy but the seafood was poor. The squid had almost no flavor, the shrimp was either poor quality or refrozen too many times as, while it was cooked, it was translucent. The only flavor in the dish was the spice. Again – great service and presentation – but the flavor was missing – completely.
Now – the Shrimp buns were really good. Crispy, freshly prepared, great flavor – but – quite saucy. Dial back the sauce a bit, it shouldn’t be dripping out completely. Perhaps I picked a bad day, but for the price, I expected more flavor!

Atlanta’s Hidden Gem for Ramen Lovers

If you’re on the hunt for the best ramen in Atlanta, look no further than Hajime. As a long-time fan of Umaido in Suwannee since 2009, I was thrilled to discover that these two culinary hotspots share the same roots—same delicious offerings, just a new name.

Hajime does ramen right, especially if you’re a fan of a spicy kick. Their spicy noodles are hands-down the best I’ve encountered anywhere; the depth of flavor is a revelation. What sets them apart? They proudly craft their own noodles and broth, elevating the experience to another level. I had the chance to chat with the chef while he was lovingly preparing the pork belly—he kept the cooking time under wraps for secret recipe reasons, but trust me, it’s worth the culinary mystery. This pork belly is pure decadence, melting in your mouth with each bite.

Unlike many mainstream franchises, the broth here doesn’t slam your taste buds with MSG. Instead, it’s a harmonious blend that won’t leave you feeling bloated. And let’s not forget their impressive drink selection—perfect for a casual evening or a special date night!

With Hajime’s convenient location, I’m excited to make this my go-to spot with my partner. If you’re in the area, do your palate a favor and dive into this ramen experience. You won’t regret it.

Hajime is always a cozy and welcoming Ramen spot. Love coming here for birthday dinners or just because. Adding rich broth and making the ramen spicy (if you’re into that) is always a good decision. Pictured is the Kani salad, homemade Kimchi ($1!!), and both Tonkotsu ramen, one with spice level 3. I’m not gluten free, but I enjoy their kale noodles, as well.

Curry is ramen is surprisingly so good. Also, the broth in kimchi ramen is so flavorful but the kimchi is a bit soggy lacking crunch.
Onigiri is so fresh and on point.

I came here based on the recommendation of a friend and I must say, I am pleasantly surprised. I got the Tonkatsu ramen and it was delicious. The broth was flavorful and probably one of the best broths I’ve tasted in a very long time. I would absolutely recommend trying this place. I came when it wasn’t very busy as all and received great service from the waitress. It definitely feels like a place that you could bring the family, a date, or just treat yourself to a solo date.

Pretty good seafood ramen here. They don’t have many drink options, no diet sodas. They do have alcohol of course. Plenty of parking and great quick service.

Edit: this is about a year later and this place is not the same unfortunately. Chashu is still the best in atlanta but the broth is watery, flavorless, and the noodles taste like boxed noodles. It’s so disappointing! The service is incredible… in that it’s been a few times and they’ve only had one server doing orders, take out, and cleaning- so the service is incredibly horrible. This is such a different restaurant than the one we went to over a year ago. Honestly, please avoid and spend your money anywhere else

Absolutely recommend Hajime! We got the spicy tonkatsu in spice level 1 and 6. Probably the best chasyu and marinated egg we’ve had in Atlanta. The broth also tasted the most authentic we’ve tried in the US. All in all, definitely a must try!

We stumbled upon this ramen spot while in the Buckhead area, and I’m happy we did! Hajime’s ramen was absolutely delicious, rich in flavor, freshness and spice. We tried their takoyaki, kimchi chicken ramen, chicken buns and ultra spicy ramen (level 1). The restaurant was pretty chill, service was good, plenty of parking!

Ramen was amazing and the service was friendly and laidback. The temperature wasn’t warm on a cold night but the ramen helped a lot. Great for a quick japanese dinner! Will definitely be back.
