I stopped by Hail Mary in West Asheville, in the old Tastee Diner spot, during that awkward mid day gap between lunch and dinner when I was absolutely starving. I noticed they had PB&J Brussels sprouts on the menu and knew I had to try them. They did not disappoint. Such a fun and unexpected flavor combination, and it somehow worked perfectly. I would recommend it to anyone who wants to try something a little different.
I’ve also had a lot of burgers around Asheville, and the Popper Burg here was outstanding. It was a hefty amount of beef grilled to perfection, and the bun stayed out of the way instead of overwhelming the burger. Considering the quality and portion compared with the price, I’d say it easily ranks among my favorite burgers in Asheville.
I also had a chance to meet the owner, Kelly, in person for the first time and I could immediately tell how much passion she puts into the restaurant. The whole place is dripping with Y2K personality, which paired perfectly with the friendly staff and overall vibe.
If you’re visiting Asheville, I wouldn’t miss this one even though it’s not downtown. I think this might even become my go-to late night spot now that Barrel House closed last year.

I’ve had many burgers. This smash burger is the best. No need to add or take away and the bun is the most soft and makes it even better. The hot chicken sandwich rivals the best in town. Have a look at the size. Perfect heat with honey, and the Cole slaw was good too. Try the sauce flight with the fries.

Amazing food. Hot girl chicken is fantastic. Gf except for bun. So crunchy. Fries are good and you only need one order with sandwich, comes in shareable bowl. Funky interior! Has outside seating for better weather. Order at counter. My photo is half the chx with no bun.

Their food is delicious. One of my fav burgers in town. I will say, I recently ordered on door dash and was really bummed by how small the serving of fries was for $6.50! If I’m paying $30 for a burger and fries, I want y’all to HOOK ME UP.

Burgers are great…don’t change your bun!! Get some raw onions and jalapeños, haha. Service I gave a 5, however the only service is bringing you the food, with that said staff was nice and welcoming. Order at the bar…bus your table, but I’m ok with that. They have their own flair…go check them out.

My husband and I ended up at Hail Mary last night to celebrate our second wedding anniversary, and we had a great time! We sat at the bar, our server was very attentive, and it was fun to watch the chef at work while we hung out. Everything we ordered was incredible! My favorite was the Pimp Cheese! We got that instead of fries and had zero regrets. We were glad to snag the cheesesteak before it’s taken off the menu, and my breakfast sandwich was so luscious! The hashbrown had the most magical texture, I’m still daydreaming about it. The Dirt Cup was a great finisher, that chocolate mousse is truly divine. We will definitely be back! Zero regrets!

Hail Mary full of TASTE! Wow, my eagerness to try this place was completely justified. I strongly recommend visiting with at least 4 people so you can try a bit of everything. The flavor combinations are powerful and exciting yet balanced and familiar.

My wife and I came here on a recent trip to Asheville off a recommendation from a friend, we were not disappointed. We ordered two different types of burgers and the sauce flight, it was all incredible. Very unique atmosphere, which to be fair is all of Asheville, but this particular spot had phenomenal food too and we would 100% come back given the chance. Great burger, albeit a bit messy, really enjoyed all of the Sauce Flight, and the hibiscus lemonade was good as well. Cool place. Make sure to check out the magic bathroom inside!
