Seven years ago, two people inspired to bring the unique flavours of shawarma to their area set out to accomplish what seemed like an impossible dream. Through hard work and dedication, their ‘home made from scratch’ menu and custom-made spice formulation quickly gained a loyal following. In fact, the success of their restaurant was so immense that within the first few years of being open, they had tripled their business. All these thanks to offering something that wasn’t available in the area – tasty, quality shawarma!

All seating is located on the upper floor, and the upstairs seating area was spacious and nice, making it easy to enjoy the meal without feeling cramped. Even though there’s no seating downstairs, the layout upstairs felt well organized and suitable for families. We appreciated that a high chair was available, which made dining with a child much easier and more comfortable.
The food was good and satisfying, with fresh flavors and well-prepared dishes. Everything we ordered was enjoyable and came out just right. One of the highlights for me personally was that they offer my favorite drink, Freeze, with a wide variety of flavors to choose from, which was a great bonus.
Overall, Haifa Grill is a great option for families looking for good food, easy parking, and a relaxed, uncrowded dining experience. Also, consider sharing as the sandwich isnreally big.
Place is always busy, food is always fresh and made to order. This means there’s a little bit of a wait to get your order (10-15min). However, you can order online for pick up. The mint lemonade is overpriced, but really good!
They will put french fries in chicken shawarma wrap if you ask! (Only thing that’s missing is fresh parsley for the beef shawarma)
I decided to try this place after seeing a rave review from influencer Nomtastic, who highlighted the food and mentioned the owner being present and very engaged. That’s what motivated me to drive down from North Laurel, Maryland.
I called at 10:00 p.m. to place an order and no one answered. I arrived around 10:30 p.m. (30 minutes before closing), and there were 5–6 employees standing around, so there’s really no excuse for not picking up the phone.
I ordered the chicken shawarma shrak, beef shawarma shrak, tabbouleh, and baba ganoush. The baba ganoush was good. The tabbouleh was average. The chicken was extremely dry and barely seasoned. The beef was very fatty and lacked flavor. Overall, the meat quality and execution were poor.
The total came to nearly $52. Based on the review I saw, I expected flavorful, well-prepared food and attentive service. Instead, the food felt rushed and lacked care. If the kitchen is winding down before closing, that should be communicated but serving dry, bland meat at that price point is unacceptable.
I got the beef shawarma on shrak and it was delicious, and it was such a huge and hefty portion that I could only manage half for dinner. The rest for a meal the following day.
