I had an absolutely wonderful experience at Al Layali Restaurant & Café! From the moment I walked in, I was struck by how cozy and inviting the atmosphere is. It’s the perfect place to unwind, whether you’re looking for a late-night hangout or a delicious meal.
The Food: The menu is packed with authentic flavors. I highly recommend the Chicken Shawarma and the Lamb Kabobs—the meat was perfectly marinated, juicy, and full of flavor. Their Hummus and fresh Falafel are also top-tier and a must-order for the table. Don’t even get me started about the baklava which the owner was kind enough to provide for free on one of my visits, the best LA!!!
The Hookah: If you are a hookah enthusiast, this is easily one of the best spots in LA. The quality of the hookah is exceptional—very smooth, long-lasting, and they have a great selection of fresh flavors. I personally loved the Lemon Mint; it was refreshing and prepared perfectly.
The Service: What truly made the night special was the hospitality. The owner was incredibly kind and friendly, taking the time to make sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed. You can tell they truly care about their guests and take pride in their business.
I’ll definitely be coming back soon. If you’re in the West Hollywood area, do yourself a favor and check this place out!

Very quiet place. Low prices for a large amount of food. The lentil soup was delicious very much comfort food. Beef kabobs huge plate, definitely enough food for 2 people served with a delicious salad and rice. Indoor and outdoor seating. Staff was very nice. No copy of the bill given.

Al Layali Restaurant and Café is a wonderful place, but the best part is the owner, Uncle Nabil from Egypt—a respectful man who warmly welcomes Arabs and Saudis. Their oriental dishes are delicious and generously portioned, so much so that you might not be able to finish your plate. A great experience worth repeating!

The most Delicious and authentic Egyptian food in Los Angeles. The food is homemade to order with love. I haven’t had food like this since I was in Egypt. Nabil treated us like family. We will be back for sure. The koshari was delicious and is so hard to find in us!

Awful experience on my trip to LA with my family unfortunately. This was rough on all fronts. Mainly came here for the hookah. However, it was bad and somehow they get away with offering used hookah hoses. It’s also very loud being that their “patio” is right on the street. Needless to say it was not enjoyable and very uncomfortable.

The food was delicious, the service was amazing— such hospitable owners, and the vibe is beautiful. Extremely comfy and lots of pillows. Love this place! First time here and will definitely be returning. The Kushari, hummus, and Bamya was amazing!

Amazing food! Large portions! And the couple that own/run this fantastic establishment made the entire experience from phone call to exiting the restaurant. Very genuine! If I lived in LA I would be a frequent customer.

They just smash garlic on this very dry salmon. The rice is just not it. Very expensive and very bad food. What is this? The Sharwama is dry and burnt. Taste so bad
