Food portions good, very authentic. Know that there food runs warm as in hot but flavorful. My husband could only eat 1/2 the burrito! Not a Tex mex place. Food was to warm for me as I can’t handle the heat.

Came here for my birthday dinner and it was soooo amazing. i got the steak tacos my husband got the steak torta and we got the chips and guac appetizer. also got a strawberry margarita but they only offered rum with that but it was still very good! 10/10 definitely coming back

First time at Hacienda Volcan and I’ll definitely be back. Food was not only tasty but also bountiful. Everything was truly authentic and it tastes as such. Clearly labeled gluten free dishes were a nice touch. Margaritas were massive, but go for the classic on the rocks vs frozen – frozen was much too sweet and was a $3 upcharge. Only gripe was the restaurant was pretty low volume but our meals took close to 45 minutes to arrive.

If you want and need authentic nicely portioned Mexican food come here! We’re pleased to see Scranton having an awesome Mexican place that is truly authentic and affordable. We live closer to Philadelphia and we’re very happy to find this place. We got Birria Quesadilla and Milenesa de res.

You may pass by this establishment and not even know how good the food is. Do yourself a favor and try it out next time you are in the mood for some Mexican food. Prices are fair and food comes out hot. The inside is nicely decorated with Mexican heritage tables and drawn murals. If you don’t speak Spanish that’s ok. Portions are big and so are the margarita drinks. We tried the fajita, some al pastor tacos, and a Mexican sandwich which are known as a torta. I highly recommend plus the service was thank you!

Not a lot of legit Mexican food (that I’ve seen) in the Lehigh Valley so I didn’t expect to find this gem while visiting Scranton. Menudo on the menu everyday is bold and refreshing to see. I’m used to hominy in menudo but where I’ve found it on the East Coast it almost never has it. It was still delicious though. The wife got the Chile rellenos and those where enormous compared to others I’ve seen and she really enjoyed those (as well as REAL Mexican rice and beans). The tacos de birria were also very good. Next time we make our way back to Scranton we’ll definitely come back.

Love this place. One of my favorites. The family who works there are amazing and always happy to see us when we come back! We paid about $122 with tip for all you see. 5 sodas included. Nacho, 3 steak tacos, 4 tacos that you dip in juice, fries, 2 shrimp cocktails, & 5 bottles of soda!
