During a short visit to the city, I decided to find the highest rated Mexican restaurant in Tahlequah. At first a little. I was a little bit worried that it would be Taco Bueno but instead gave me this option which I had never had before. I don’t know if I had just missed it or had been avoiding it. I just don’t recall being aware of this restaurant but it appears it’s been here for a while.

Right away from the get-go. I knew this was going to be an excellent experience because the parking lot was getting crowded quickly upon opening at 11:00. It’s not always the most reliable way to find out if a place would be good, but it does give you a hint that whatever is going on inside it’s somewhat of a good thing and at least it’s not killing anybody. Now as I made my way in I love the classic Mexican but high-end decor. They did not go easy on spending what’s necessary to make a restaurant stand out. I’ve seen places where the food is okay, but the fact that they spend the time and energy in properly decorating and giving A visitor a good reception that in itself makes the experience a hundred times better from the get-go. We always remember First impressions and so the impression I’m getting is at this place is really good. I was quickly given a choice to sit at a table or in a booth which to me didn’t matter, but something that caught my attention again in a good way was the fact that I didn’t even have to ask. The guy that brought the chips and salsa saw me and said hey. Would you mind if I bring you a hot sauce, a hotter sauce and I said heck yeah!
Then seconds later the waiter showed up and welcomed me with the smile and offered me a drink. He wasted no time in letting me know that they had some specials. What impressed me about this was that I’m a guy with construction clothes and just one person and yet this guy did not care about that. He just wanted to offer a good service.
So I started looking through the menu. The menu was okay I guess. A little bit crowded but not as bad as I’ve seen others. Easy to read and easy to find good options. I went for the hacienda Vieja steak and while I placed the order I made a quick trip to go wash my hands and just check the entirety of the environment or I should say atmosphere of the restaurant along with the cleaning is the bathrooms were exceptionally clean and smelled good. After I was done with that, I went back to my table and just enjoy the spicy Smokey salsa with the chips. I saved some of the salsa for the steak that I was about to eat because I knew that he would be good with that Ribeye.
It took about 5 minutes which I enjoyed. Just looking around taking a couple of pictures and then simply enjoying my cold water with lemon and then here it came in a sizzling hot plate. My ribeye top with vegetables as if crowning a king the king of steaks. I asked for a medium cook. I think for the most part it was a medium cook but it was perfectly seasoned and soft that I thoroughly enjoyed. It didn’t really care much about the beans and rice. I think the ribeye speaks for himself Great flavors.

Here are some small recommendations for this particular. Dish since these appear to be your most expensive dishes in the steak area I highly recommend that you accompany them with handmade corn tortillas. I think that would make this dish top notch and more of an experience the little tortillas I had with it were too, small and honestly. I feel bad for the steak putting them in such a small thin tortilla. I will say I’m glad you did not serve them with flour tortillas that would have been a disgrace to this steak. Overall I really appreciate it the experience and the beautiful decor in the restaurant okay hopefully in the near future and another of my visits. I can taste a little bit more of your menu.

I was really disappointed with my experience at this restaurant. From the moment we arrived, the service was slow and inattentive. We waited far too long to be greeted, and even longer for our food, despite the restaurant not being particularly busy. When the food finally arrived, it was underwhelming. Kitchen staff was playing too loud music and when I asked to increase volume for Super Bow, they just said completely NO. I guess it’s more important for kitchen people to have entertainment than customers. I have been a regular customer here. I hope some action will be taken because I really enjoy food but customer service on Super Bowl day was definitely disgusting.

Love this place – food is fantastic and very flavorful. The tortillas are made from scratch, fresh right here – they are so good they melt in your mouth. The staff is friendly, courteous and cater to your needs. It’s a must stop every time we visit the area.

Probably one of the top Mexican restaurants in Tahlequah. Be sure to try their tortillas – they’re amazing! We had a one month old with us and they quickly got a sling for the baby carrier to sit on so the baby could stay in the car seat while we ate

Wonderful food, great atmosphere, very clean and up-to-date restrooms! Staff was very nice, treated us like we were family. They even added cactus since I’ve never eaten it before. Even said they’d see us tomorrow. We don’t live here, so probably not. But next time we’re in town, we’ll be here.

My 1st visit and it will not be my last. The food was quick to get to me, hot, and every bite was delicious. I had the lunch Chile Colorado and a Long Island tea, which was also great. Great work everyone, keep up the great work.

I eat here often(at least once a week)! Taco Tuesday is great. They also have pork fajitas! The service is quick and the servers are friendly. They have updated the menu since opening and have added some different choices of food! I also added mango to the shrimp cocktail one night and it was very, very good! The fried ice cream is the best I have ever had(I have had a lot from many different places) because the ice cream is hard and the cornflakes are crunchy! The only odd thing is they do have raisins in their vanilla ice cream.
