This is a very spacious spot with upscale, boutique style interiors that instantly elevate the whole experience. The ambiance alone makes it feel like more than just a casual Mexican restaurant. And the food absolutely lived up to the hype. It genuinely felt authentic based on the depth of flavors and how everything was prepared.
We tried the chicken fajitas and a burrito. The fajitas were sizzling, well seasoned, and packed with flavorful chicken and a great mix of vegetables. The burrito was generous in size, super filling, and satisfying without feeling overly heavy.
We also ordered the avocado trio, which was delicious and paired perfectly with the mains. It added a fresh, creamy balance to the meal.
Easily one of the top recommendations if you are in Geneva and craving solid Mexican food. I would definitely come back.

Wow! What an amazing way to celebrate our anniversary ❤️ The food, drinks, atmosphere, and our server/bartender Paola were PHENOMENAL! Definitely our new GO TO for Mexican. Went for happy hour and ordered Texas Margaritas and Margarita Carnival and ceviche de pulpo a d all were excellent I ended up having another Texas Margarita and for $7.50 you can’t go wrong! Them babies were STRONG For dinner we ordered the Carne Asada and Molcajete. Both were absolutely delicious and the portions were HUGE! I forgot about the tortillas. Soooo fresh and delicious! Our server was the bartender Paola who was very pretty, attentive, and knew how to make a drink! We will definitely be back!!

We had a very nice lunch at Hacienda Real. It was kinda loud for the middle of the day but the is a personal thing. There was now handicap door.
The chips and salsa we fantastic the chips were hot and salted which was nice. The pick 3 was very good but i ordered all 3 with onion added but didn’t get it. The drinks were very good the mojito was very flavorful and pretty too.
The parking was convenient and free.

Excellent service and spectacular food. We ordered the queso fundido and octopus ceviche as appetizers. Main courses were paella and the combination platter. Dessert was the churro cart. Such a good time, we will definitely be back and hope to see our same server Vianey, who was great, on our next visit.

Great experience at Hacienda Real Geneva! The food was fresh, flavorful, and came out hot. Every dish tasted authentic and well-seasoned, and you can tell they really care about quality. The portions were generous, the atmosphere was welcoming, and the service made the whole dinner even better. Definitely a spot I’d come back to when I’m craving good Mexican food. Highly recommend!

Update:
I just called today 1/9/26 after the owner’s note below and no one answered. This is the first time anyone attmpted to address my concerns, even after texting the number on the receipt and leaving a message with staff. I’ve already reported the card as compromised, issued charge backs, and got a new card.
Please see pictures of the receipts for more info on how to refund me more and/or refund other people who ate with me. 12/27/2025, table 35, checks 44, 45, etc.
Food with a side of fraud. Before I ate here I said I would take pictures and leave a review after, good or bad, so here it is.
Cons:
– I paid for two checks and since we had a group of 12 people there was a 20% gratuity added. Would have been nice to be told that up front but that’s fine. What isn’t fine is the restaurant adding another 20% on top, which is either fraud or at the very least really poor customer service. I assume this happened to every check at my table but we’re still researching
– I was told I’d have a call back in 30 minutes never got one almost 2 weeks later
– I also messaged the owner but no return text yet almost 2 weeks later
– my next step is report this to my credit card company and possibly the Geneva police to deter this from happening to other people as I won’t be eating here again
– the server also had us repeat ourselves several times (what part of no meat is hard to understand?) and the beans and rice tasted weird
– prices were higher than La Campana in Bloomingdale and portions were smaller
Pros:
– the atmosphere was good
– the restrooms were clean and nice
– the food was decent except the rice and beans
– the service was mostly fine except for the credit card fraud

– spanish dance music is played while you eat

The food the biggest disappointment. Steak big time over cooked and very low quality. The tuna has 0 taste. The drinks were ok the food – I did not expect to get so dissatisfied. The octopus was like a chowing gum..
probably we will not give it another try even if the server was amazing.
