Extra charge for 5$ without noticing the client. I didn’t want to ask them why due to the language barrier. I couldn’t even get sparkling water because our waitress didn’t understand. She was nice tho but that’s not enough to be a server to earn 20% of the bill. We tip her anyway, but whoever run this place put the wrong person to this job. The food was fine. I ordered ceviche and wondering how is this food end up here. Anyway, it was good, good presentation. Fusion food in a way. Atmosphere is so cold and empty, I didn’t like it very much. For first time wasn’t a horrible experience, but probably won’t come back, sorry.

Dined here last night, the place seems like it was recently opened, and a lot of things weren’t perfectly in place.

The waiter had some difficulties speaking English, nevertheless he was nice and friendly.

The complimentary chips and salasa were very tasty. We ordered shrimp tacos and shrimp quesadillas. Both were good, but not amazing. The taste was flat. Nothing amazing or outstanding. The dishes were nicely served.

They had some great options of hot sauces, which I enjoyed, especially La Anita (Green).

The prices are reasonable. We paid nearly $30. Note that the portions are slightly small compared to other places in the states.

Had birthday dinner there it was horrible. I made reservations for 630 we walked in only 2 other tables were occupied. Once she took our orders for food and drinks she Never followed up to ask if we needed refills or brevages. Each time we had to go to signal her to come wait on on us mind you she was just sitting at the bar talking to bartender. When meals finally came she forgot to put in one of the orders for the table so we waited another 15 min so we could all eat together. Through out the night if we wanted any service we had to call her to come to or table again restaurant had max 4 tables occupied. Once we were ready to go she never brought ticket. She was proudly sitting at the bar coming her hair and talking to bartender. Food was edible but don’t recommend. We tipped her well due to she had already deducted out of everyone’s ticket. Explains the bad service.

Great authentic experience in downtown Amarillo! The margaritas are light and freshly mixed! The salsa was hot but so good! Lots of open seating and fun atmosphere

Not a place to chill and enjoy yourself. Food was low quality. Burnt chips and salsa wasn’t up to my standards. Music too load to talk and I won’t return.

We dropped in to get to-go orders for a private party upstairs. BIG MISTAKE. The manager spent his time stroking his beard for some reason, while trying to change the channel on the video screen; we’re talking 15 minutes. We waited over 45 minutes for really awful, overpriced food at a time they weren’t that busy (mostly drink orders). Even after being assured it “will be out shortly,” it was another 15 minutes. We got up to cancel and get a refund when it finally came out. There are MUCH better restaurants within walking distance, at a much lower price too. Needless to say, we’ll never go back. Look for a big FOR LEASE sign in the near future.

Service was a zero food was okay. Service .why ?took for ever to see if we needed a drink . Very disappointing. There was only 2 tables occupied no reason for no follow up on our food and drinks. Wait staff just stood around.

Finding Hacienda Meche isn’t exactly difficult, but the layout of the strip makes it feel tucked away, and there’s no clear exterior signage beyond small white letters on the glass door. It’s not obvious where to walk in, which sets a slightly confusing first impression.

Upon entering, I expected to be greeted and seated, but instead I saw a man in a baseball cap and T-shirt behind the bar chatting closely with three guests. No hostess stand, no signage, no direction. Two other staff members stood at the far end of the bar, simply staring rather than acknowledging us. We ended up seating ourselves.

Menus and drinks came quickly, along with chips and salsa. The horchata was fine nothing special and the water tasted normal. The chips, while seemingly homemade and flavorful, were served cold, and the salsa was clearly refrigerated before being brought out, which made the whole starter feel uninviting.

Our server was polite enough but lacked warmth or engagement. After ordering, it took about 15 minutes for our food to arrive, and we had to flag down the server for refills and more chips. Unfortunately, parts of the meal were cold particularly the “easier” items while the longer-cooking dishes were hotter. The overall flavor of the food was actually decent, but there were concerning moments: in one quesadilla and in a grilled chicken and rice plate, there was a strange, gristly bite that made both me and another guest gag. That same guest felt sick afterward and was unwell the following morning.

The menu doesn’t clearly indicate spice levels, and several dishes were heavier on spice than expected. A few plates were also noticeably greasy.

To top things off, gratuity was automatically added to both checks for our party of six which is common but there was no mention of this policy on the menu, in writing, or verbally from the staff. It would’ve been nice to be told beforehand.

In short, Hacienda Meche has potential with its flavors, but the service, presentation, and quality control left much to be desired. With better hospitality, attention to temperature, and menu clarity, it could be a solid spot but as it stands, I left more disappointed than satisfied.

We were really excited to try this place. My wife and I decided to spend our afternoon date here and it was a giant disappointment.

When we walked in there were two other tables, so not busy at all. The bartender sat us and it took awhile for the waitress to come take our drink order. I ordered a draft Dos Equis and my wife ordered a sprite. Five minutes later the waitress brought my wife a squirt and myself a bottled dos. We didn’t say anything about this because we didn’t want to come off as picky.

We ordered an appetizer, and then told the waitress we were ready to order the main meals. That’s when she just walked off without taking our order. She never came back to the table after that. We waited and waited and she never came. She walked by a few times but ignored us.

At this point it was about ten minutes since we ordered. I set a five minute timer on my phone, and it went off I left $5 for my beer and we left, having never seen the waitress again.

It was a Sunday afternoon, we were one of three tables, and I still haven’t the slightest idea what was going on. We won’t be trying this place again.
