Spartan, counter-serve eatery providing a standard Mexican menu & late-night hours.

Gosh, some of these reviews are so rude.
I’ve never had them mess up my order. Not once.
If you’re having trouble communicating, please place your order with a delivery app and select the Pickup option. You can easily select (and repeat) add ons for items in your order, like “lettuce” or “onions and cilantro x2” for example.
The turnaround time here is great, and the portions are extremely generous. I can never finish a burrito in one sitting. Be careful ordering their Buñuelitos, they’re addicting! 🙂
I really appreciate how you can select specific sauce sides here. At other restaurants, I normally struggle to get as much green sauce (salsa verde) as I’d like when ordering online. I never have that issue here.
*E-reader included in image for scale of burrito size LOL
**Not to point fingers at another reviewer, but their potato crunchy taco is the first recommended item in their “crunchy taco” section on DoorDash.
If you vaguely supply “two crunchy tacos” when ordering—yet don’t specify what kind, as you stated—the employees are hardly at fault for providing the most popular option.
***Okay, I realize that was totally pointing fingers, but I’m shamelessly leaving it in.

This is Mexican food for the Portland population palette. The name is cute and menu is your typical menu so this place is perfect for a quick bite.
I ordered the 2 cheese enchiladas plate with Rice and beans and an orchard. The beans were refried beans and didn’t taste that great. The rice was the yellowish rice and was fine. The enchiladas themselves were doused in the cheese and sauce. Tasted more tangy. I asked for the spicy sauce but it tasted like Tabasco sauce. Not spicy at all if you can take it. The orchard came out of a gallon jug so it looked pre made and store bought. Even though there is a machine there whipping it.
Service was fine. No complaints.
Atmosphere was typical of a fast food restaurant at 5pm. Not busy at all. 1 tv in the dining area blasting telenovelas.
Would recommend this place, but not to people like myself from Los Angeles. The ingredients dont taste the same and thats a climate and geographic issue, not a quality issue.
Paid around $16. Was filled up.

I love this place. I come here like 3 times a week. They are so fast during my lunch break. The food is so good. The costumer service is great. I always feel so seen. Never neglected from the moment I walk in the restaurant.

Absolutely Love Habaneros. Staff is always polite, attentive, and as quick as to be expected or faster. Orders are always fresh, hot, great flavor, and more than generous servings. Prices are well within the fair range, possibly bumping a hell of a deal on several menu options. I’ve never waited in drive-thru for longer than 10 min, generally from placing order to pulling off averages 5+/-min. Always open relatively late, midnight or 1am. Best damn chicken quesadilla in the metro area only 10.29ish, and large enough to feed two moderate eaters easily. Definitely worth the visit if you enjoy Mexican food.

It’s such a blessing to live so close to this gem. Their carnitas are amazing and the burritos are huge. It’s a no frills kinda spot with a tiny dining area, but I like that. The folks are nice and the food is great.

Why would you go to a big chain when you can go here?
Delicious grub made to order. Be sure to try their homemade hot sauces.
Crunchy tacos are awesome and I look forward to trying other dishes.

I know it’s convientely located,inexpensive food.
Don’t fall prey. I wasted 15$ on a burrito.
I have never had such a greasy burrito.
Absolutely inedible.
I really wanted to like Habaneros. I work blocks away. Sorry you are worse than Taco Bell.

Got a steak fajita burrito from the drive-through. By the time I got to where i was going (the mall, about 3 minutes away), the bag was dripping with grease. The burrito was completely soaked in grease (pictures included), the tortilla was falling apart due to the being soaked and it was a drippy mess with grease everywhere. The wrapping paper was completely soaked in grease, and my napkins were all half-soaked. The flavor was okay (a little bland, but the habenero sauce was good and was the saving grace of the meal), and I was able to eat it all because I was starving. I’m definitely feeling uneasy after eating it, though. I’m going to try this again because what I got looks nothing like what other people got here, but until then, I’m being generous with the 2 star and hoping for better next time.

My visit here was so disappointing that the word frustrating doesn’t even begin to cover it. Having previously worked at one of the corporate offices in the area, I often dined at various food spots in the community. In 2023, I ordered the same dish as I did today. I took the time to read the ingredients for the “two crunchy tacos” I ordered. The list mentioned nothing about potatoes or sausage in a ground beef crunchy taco; it simply stated “ground beef, lettuce, and cheese”—nothing more. I absolutely do not want, like, or ever wish to have potatoes on my tacos. My frustration with the food was immense, and all I received in response was, “I know, I know.” Why do those preparing someone else’s meal think it’s acceptable to serve whatever they prefer instead of what the customer ordered? It’s absurd and disrespectful. I requested what I wanted, not what you think I should have. I suspect this is how your business operates regularly, as I experienced the same issue in 2023. When I returned the order during my 30-minute lunch break, the younger man found it amusing. I promise I will never come back to this place again. Both visits were a complete waste of my time and money, and if I were you, I would reconsider before visiting or just go to Taco Bell—there’s really nothing worthwhile here except for standard chain food. Seek out a decent taco stand instead. Honestly, I hope they close this location down. They should never have relocated Habaneros here in the first place. We would much prefer KFC. There’s no need for five different Spanish fast food chains on a single block anyway.
